actually alot of Christians I have talked to are quite nice, some are really nice and listen to what you have to say, even is they are not really going to take it on board. One of the nicest Christians on YA is 'EyeLovesJesus' she is a great person to talk to and she is very understanding, intelligent, but most of all, genuine. There are a few others aswell, but if I mention too many they will all get big heads. I know this is not the answer people would expect from an Atheist, but the Christians I am talking about; you know who you are; are not the ignorant Christians that we as Atheist point our questions at, for there are others of whom intelligence is lost, ignorant, arrogant and rude, would be a way of describing those, it would be hard to feel that these Christians have love for anyone outside their own clique. they show no reason and no logic, unfortunately they are religious zombies with no chance of individual thought, these are the Christians I point my questions too anyway.

good point to bring up Roman!

The Bible says I'm to love everybody: "Love your enemies", "Love your neighbor", et cetera.

I can not say, in all honesty, that I live up to these commands.

But this has nothing to do with someone else's beliefs.

Loving someone means simply treating them the way you want to be treated - "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink." - "feed the hungry, cloth the naked, house the homeless", et cetera.

I don't do this to the level that I know I ought to. But I don't first stop and ask them what they believe. Sometimes I help, sometimes I don't. For instance, I USED to pick up hitch hikers and give them a ride to their destination. I don't really do that any more. If I see someone hungry and I have some money, I'll buy them a burger or something, but not always.

You see, love in the Greek ("Agape") is NOT the opposite of "hate", but rather, the opposite of "love" is "selfishness."

And yes - I still have selfishness inside me that I'm still trying to work at removing by the grace and with the strength of God's help.

But, I am inclined to ask you the same question, given the definitions I just presented, do YOU love everybody? Or do you have a double-standard? Do you expect from others (ie Christians) what you, yourself refuse to do? Forgive my saying so, but this is called "hypocracy".

I love everybody, regardless of belief.

If I only loved people who believed the same as me, I'd be in trouble, as most of my friends (including my husband) are not Christians. My BEST friend (apart from my husband) is an annihilist. My other best friend is Wiccan. Most of the rest are either atheist or agnostic. A couple are non-religious theists or deists. I also have Muslim friends, Hindu friends, and Buddhist friends.

Edit: I agree with Silver Tongue about EyeLovesJesus. She is EVERYTHING a Christian is supposed to be. Maybe someday I'll get there myself. I don't know though, I'm pretty snarky sometimes.

Being a Christian means that not only do we have our beliefs in certain things, but it also means that we must try to love our enemies no matter what as well as our friends-although this is sometimes difficult.

'The Enemies Of Our Enemies Are Our Friends' and it's the same the other way round too. So basically we love everyone! (Well I do, don't know about you guys but everyone's to their own)

As a Christian, I do love my neighbor and pray for my enemies. Even Jesus reported Whoever is without sin, then solid the 1st stone. i think of this is undesirable what Bin weighted down did. With all do appreciate, you may no longer tell each and every individual that they do no longer seem to be a Christian in the event that they do no longer love somebody. i'm a Christian because of the fact i admire Jesus and have faith in Him. I turn to Him whilst i choose Him.(it extremely is primary.) If i'm offended with somebody, then I pray and Jesus guard the undertaking. Take care.

I try to love everybody, but I admit there are some people who are so cruel that it is almost impossible to love them. I don't love murderers and rapist by my own imperfection. But, I know that in order to be able to help someone else come to God I must love them. I try to be like my Father and Christ who love everyone, although they do not love them back. So I can say honestly I love the majority of people, rather they share my beliefs or not.

Honestly i try to love everyone but it is hard at times. However I would not put someone down for not being a Christian. People have different beliefs. There is notthing wrong with that.

We are only human, emotions cause us to falter. Until you love yourself how can you love another ?

I do not love everyone, but I do not only love people of the same belief, I love 80% of the people out there.

Love is an action, not an emotion. So yes, even though I feel like I hate that person for one reason or another, I love them because that's what Christ asked us to do

We are called to love the things that God loves and hate the things that God hates.

We do a pretty poor job and usually reverse the statement but, yes, we are called to love ALL, whether they hold to our beliefs or not.

But, please remember, loving someone does NOT mean agreeing with them or being afraid to challenge their beliefs.

We can sincerely love someone and sincerely disagree and even rebuke their actions.

god bless
