Buy him his name on his very own star. It isn't expensive, but it IS the most unique gift I've ever found. I bought one for my brother the father's (priest) birthday last year, had the certificate and the star map showing its location framed and it now hangs in a position of honor in his office at the church.
FYI: His star is officially named Brucifer (family joke) and can be found near the right horn of the constellation Aries the Ram (his birth sign).
