Whatever the truth is, it is haram. As a mature individual regardless whether you are a Muslim or not, this is common sense logic that it is indeed haram.
You answered about the Islamic sects before and you mentioned about the Muslims being ignorant of Islam. Then surely, do not be offended, your question really describes what you said and this time to your very self!
And now you are wondering why Muslims are so divided among themselves and continuously bash by non-Muslims? Well it's because of "Muslims" like you who ask silly and non-sensical questions...

LOL regardless of who it is or what status, is it not wrong to flirt with a married person, although they may be accountable too. Either way, one should know better
