I'm a Christian and I have never kissed a statue of anyone, dead or otherwise. Where did you ever get that idea?

If you are referring to some catholics who kiss crucifixes, you need to remember that Jesus isn't dead.

What statue do we kiss? Christians don't worship idols. I sometimes kiss the crucifix on my necklace to remind me that no matter what happens I owe everything to Jesus and I am praising and remembering him quickly at the spur of the moment because I don't have time to sit and pray. I don't ever recall anybody in my Christian church ever kissing a statue though.

I agree with Butterfly....

Not many do... I agree it is idol worship... even if it is a statue of Mary or Jesus... Why kiss something that can't breath, or work or eat? God doesn't allow it! yet people do it all the time....

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

He is NOT a statue!

Lev 19:4 Turn not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.

Hab 2:18-19 What profites the graven image that the maker thereof has graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusts therein, to make dumb idols? Woe unto him that says to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.

a statue is just a rock formed into something. i wouldnt kiss it! that is ...well can be...idol worship. But laying on your butt watching tv all day is also a form of idolatry! or rather having other god's. and the bible says thou shalt have no other gods before me!

Which dead man's stature are you referring to? Are you talking about a stature of Jesus. He is very much alive so it can't be him. Can you please let me know who you are referring to or are you just making this up to use as an example for idol worship? Are you a Christian ?

If you say it is idol worship I also agree with you. Bible says do not worship any images and there is no other God but the God of the bible to be worshiped.
