I have had flat feet all my life!! And my feet are still the same!! When I was tiny i went to millions of doctors, I wore special insoles, special shoes for years till I was 11. At 11, they told me to stop wearing them. To be honest all the money spent in shoes, etc, was a waste. My feet are still the same. Now when I go clubbing I wear heels, and they always hurt my feet a lot! but well, I'm used to it! I'm sorry to tell you but I think there is no solution for our problem!

Pes Planus or flat feet, has different causes, therefore there are different treatments.
Generally the first step is to see a podiatrist who will direct the treatment process.
The first step is usually bracing, physio therapy and orthotics. Sometimes the condition can be corrected to a point that continued use of orthotics and bracing is not required, it just takes following instructions during the course of therapy.
There may be a few who would recommend surgery, but normally, unless, there is significant pain involved, the above course of treatment is followed until resolution or long-term use of orthotics is selected.
I had a sinus tarsitis in my left ankle and the resultant spasms flattened my left arch. I have now redeveloped my arch and do not use orthotics.
I was also born with pes planus, wore orthotics and had appropriate therapy and developed the arches. Never had a problem again for over 45 years, despite 20 years in the Army and running several marathons and other long races on a weekly basis.
Anyone can wear a couple of lifts in their shoes. You have to put in the work with the therapist.

There is no cure. When I was younger I had to wear the ugliest orthopedic shoes. Totally gross. Didn;t make any difference my feet are still flat. You can get special raised insoles to help I've never bothered with them and I get on grand. Basically flat feet aren't going to affect your life.

i have flat foot too! and i still am. i like being flat foot. i hate those curve up shoes! they hurt my feet now! but if you wanted to be a non-flat foot person, then i would suggest wearing the curved shoes that go up in the middle of your foot. byebye =)

Ask for a referral from your GP to see a Podiatric Sugeon, and he will have a 'tailor made insole made for you, it wont actually cure it, but will make life more comfortable for you, and improve your gait.

there is no cure for a flat foot, you need to get your gp to refer you to a podiatrist who will give you inserts for your shoes. these will give you great relief.
