Antibiotics can clear up a gonorrhea infection. It doesn't matter if someone has had it a week or a year - antibiotics will cure it.

There are several different antibiotics a doctor can prescribe to cure gonorrhea. Some antibiotics can include:
Rocephin (ceftriaxone)
Cipro (ciprofloxacin)
Levaquin (levofloxacin)
Floxin (ofloxacin)
Trobicin (spectinomycin)

If gonorrhea is left untreated for a while it can cause severe health problems and reproductive problems. If this happens then different medications/treatments might need to be used if there is another infection caused by not treating the gonorrhea (like PID - pelvic inflammatory disease).

Take care!

Uhhhh yeah, anti-biotics clear Gonnorhea and Chlamydia right up. Ask your Doctor what anti-biotic to take not someone in YA. If this has been in your urinary tract for a year, you need to have that urinary tract checked out.
If you've had sex with anyone this past year, they will need to know about this too.

Your Doctor will prescribe the right meds.

You should perhaps contact a sex diseases clinic if there is one locally, they are experienced in this.

You will be asked to give details of all your recent intimate contacts - they need to be traced so they can be treated, and so they don' keep spreading it too.
