1. I'm sure you aren't chunky
2. Are you a vegan due to religious views, veganism is not really an essential dietary idea, but I am not here to criticise your diet :D
3. Many people are "chunky" because of genetics. Do you ever see people that eat tons of food and are still very thin. This is mainly due to the rate of metabolism in individuals. Odds are you have slower metabolism than other vegans. (Not saying you're slow, or retarded :P) So don't worry, there is a way [to an extent] that you can resolve being "chunky" but don't become annorexic or don't try to starve yourself to lose weight. "Just keep going, and wherever you go, go with all your heart."

It really depends on what you eat, how much you eat and how active you are. I was vegan for about 3 years and always stayed between 200-215 (I'm a 5'7" girl) I didn't really exercise other than walking and I ate a ton of vegan junk food all the time.
I plan on eventually going vegan again but this time healthier as I have a child now and want to set a positive example.

Generally, a vegetarian/vegan diet causes weight loss just because of the way that the diet is more healthy. However, often genetics, or just the general way your body is built can cause you to not loose weight as a vegetarian.
Truthfully, I wouldn't freak about it unless you are seriously overweight. "Chunky" is a nasty-sounding word- I prefer "curvy." ;-) Curves are coming back, so don't try and find it, take advantage of it! You can know that you are eating healthy and that, whether you loose weight or not, by a year from now people will want to be gaining more weight rather then being all anorexic-looking. Just get through our messed up culture for now, and I'm sure you'll be happier later.

Vegans do tend to be thinner than omnivores, but that doesn't mean they definitely are. I'm a chunky vegan as well, and I know vegans who definitely would not be considered skinny.

Honey, it don't matter. You could be Vegan and live on Dr. Pepper and french fries.
But in general, Veg*ns are more informed on nutrition and diet than flesh eaters.
Look into your calorie intake. Get a book and add it up
Cheers

It's because of choice of food. While some vegetarian eat lots of vegetables and fruits. Some love to eat pastas, bread and pastry. Potato chips is vegetarian but can make you gain weight. Don't eat fried food and bleached flour.

There are so many factors, I would have to know what exactly you were eating, when, and how much exercise you were getting. Then probably evaluate your fitness levels, and health. There are people who appear overweight but are more healthy then those who are skinnier, it really depends.

It could be heredity, don't sweat it. Some nuts have high fat content, some fruits have high sugar content, and sugar turns to fat. Beware, "vegetarian/vegan" doesn't always mean "diet".
