I heard that Pope Benedict XVI is going to make a statute that all modern music will be abolished from the church and the mass will revert back to Latin. Express your opinion on this in a logical way. No: "I am an athiest/other faith, so I don't believe in God, so I really don't care." or you'll be reported.

It does not mean that just Christian Rock will be abolished, but all music other than Psalms and Gregorian Chants will be thrown away.

You do realize that even if the Pope institutes a rule like that, he means IN CATHOLIC SERVICES. It doesn't mean that people can't create that music, or listen to it, it just wouldn't be used in the services. Yes, he has considered making Latin a bigger part of the service, but this would still be just an option. I am quite sure that the Pope realizes letting the Mass be in the common language that it opened the faith up to more people and allowed people to be more involved, making the religion better.

You guys have GOT to get out of that "BOYS CLUB". Get back to where the Biblical teaching was in the first two centuries. The Pastors were married, they ran their own parrishes without a controlling Pope, even Peter was married for "Pete's" sake!Paul was a genius at the way he sat up the church. In the 300s it all changed and by the 1100s it was a "Fruit company".All the paintings of Jesus got more and more feminine. He was a real man who could build a house not just sand a chair. If it hadn't been His mission to die ,He would have been the ultimate husband and father himself. The original church was conducted first in Hebrew and then in Greek. What's with this "original Latin" crap anyway.

Where did you hear that? If you have a source that would be great because this is a very intresting question to me. I know I wouldn't like it because that old music doesn't speek to me in away that I can feel it in my soul. I think I would rebel against it and form my own branch of the catholic church.

Sorry....but that is total nonsense and was never said by this or any other Pope...

This POPE'S MOTU PROPRIO simply stated that the Latin Mass MAY be done again without special approval by a Diocesan Bishop.

What I read about is the Pope's intention to restore reverence in the mass. I am all for it. The mass is a sacrifice why have rock music?

He doesn't want the laity to understand the words they are saying. They had Bibles printed exclusively in Latin long ago so the lay people couldnt read them. Same strategy.

Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, [ye] heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

I think you are mistaken. The Pope has never made any hint towards this move.

that would never happen. There would be so much controversy if they did this. I wouldnt mind if he banned christian rock.
