recycle fee for a TV?

Last week, I bought a new digital tv and was charged a $8 recycle fee? what is that exactly??

It actually a disposal fee. There are toxic metals and such in any electronics that must be recovered before they enter the landfill. The amount and rules of disposal are usually set state by state.

varies by location (you didn't say) most locations its free to recycle, many even pay you.
