I just got into a motorbike accident without a M Class license. I have a card to show that I have completed the course, and if I take the card to the DMV they will give me a motorcycle license. I did not have the card on me at the time of the accident, and now I have to go to court to fight the case. I am wondering if I need a lawyer, and if it will be hard to get this ticket dropped. Technically speaking I have a license, but I didn't have it on me at the time. What should I do? Any suggestions?

OK. I did get the certificate before the accident, and I don't have motorcycle insurance because it is not my bike and I didn't have a bike at the time. Will I still be OK? Should I go to court with the Driving Certificate, or should I go the DMV and get the M Class License made? Do you think I need a lawyer?

Oh yea, There was no damage to anything except the motorbike. No other vehicles were involved.

At this point, you are guilty of improper license classification. If you can show the date that you completed the course, and have your license corrected ASAP, you shouldn't have a problem in court. The only question is will your insurance be valid, at the time of the accident?

Get a lawyer. They will most likely have better success talking to the DA's office about your case than you would.

But since you have gone through the training and just haven't traded that in for an actual license, I think the DA would be willing to deal, depending on injuries, damages, who was at fault, etc.

The accident was not my fault. I was going the speed limit on the 710 North (wearing a helmet) when out of nowhere my bike hit an uneven patch on the road and caused me and my bike to flip over. I sustained injuries to my arm and leg.
This accident was witnessed by two friends and a family member who were folliwng behind me on the freeway.

GO TO COURT. EXPLAIN AND SHOW TO THE JUDGE THAT YOU DO HAVE THE PROPER LICENSE. YOU JUST HAD NOT TRANSFERRED IT OVER TO DMV? MOST STATES HAVE IT RECORDED AS A PART OF YOUR LIC, MC, WATERCRAFT, MV, CLASS C LIC, BODY DONOR ETC.
