Yes that is wrong to move the dead. I have heard many stories of housing tracts and malls being built on cemetaries, they just remove the head stones and start building never giving any thought to the final resting place of someone. Its all about greed and the almighty $$$$

Yes. For several reasons. One, as the Cunning Linguist points out, is that selling organs would set a very ugly precedent. We may start on kidneys, but where will it end? I'll find it quite scary if i find an "Organs & other spare parts" category on eBay... Two, I dont think parts should be "sold". They should be donated after death of the donor. There is a very real precedent agaisnt this type of thinking. A long time ago, blood donors were paid to donate blood; and a few poor people endangered themselves as they gave more blood than they can replenish. Does this mean, that if this came to pass, we would see beggars without an arm? or "Well, i dont REALLY need my left frontal lobe, maybe i can sell it off as a downpayment on my new car..." Personally, i do find exchanging organs for money immoral; if you want to help someone so much that youre willing to give them lit. a part of you, you should be helping them out of the kindness of your heart, not because you expect monetary compensation. Thirdly, the issue of consent. No doubt youve heard of the urban legends; a traveller is in a dodgy area, then the next thing he/she remembers is waking up in a bathtub of ice, and a horrible pain in their back... If selling body parts became the norm, this can very easily pass into urban fact. I might give consent to give my kidney to someone else, but is it guaranteed that all organs would be the same? What if someone was forced to give up their organs, under pain of death, or of a loved ones death? This will only give the unscrupolous among us another avenue of ill-gotten lucre, lit. one that is bloodier than any other they may have (drugs, arm trade, prostitutes etc). What im saying is that it can be a little to easy to fake someone else's consent, esp. if you have that persons arm in a vice grip... To place this in a South African context: We south africans know full well what selling body parts gets you: muti murders. I think every point i gave above can be seen in the practise of this barbaric savegery. hmm, kinda gives excellent motivations for organ cloning...

I've always been confused about our obsession with dead bodies. What's the big deal about moving them? Will it be OK if it's 4000 years from now, and they stick them in a museum instead of just being moved so the land can be used? On the other hand, where are they moving them to, if they need to sell the land they're in now?

The dead are dead and they don't care or know what happens to their bodies, at least from most viewpoints.

I think it's a bit silly to just move a cemetery, unless there is a good reason for it; but that's just from a planning perspective.

I'd have to tour the open model homes first in order to render an opinion.

That's just wrong, they should let the dead rest in peace. I would be pissed if someone digs me out after i'm dead.

It is wrong to disturb the dead, they are resting and there is
no reason to move them ,let them buy land elsewhere.

That is horrible! People should be left in their final resting places.
