I've tried to get help in tracking it down, but all they do is lie to me.

Postal Professor;

The package has a tracking number(and mysteriously can't be found), it was returned as undeliverable as addressed(even though a forwarding order was set up weeks ahead of time and other forwarded mail has shown up), they incompetents at the post office claim it was returned to the sender(gee another lie). All the regular letters forwarded show up, butt he package with $60 worth of sports cards goes missing. And the unprofessional, inept post office employees, have claimed every day for 2 weeks that they will call me about this, and then claim they did when no phone call has come(and I have caller id so I can prove yet another lie). Why the cover up and total bs if the carrier didn't steal it? I know the post office doesn't care about customer service, but this is beyond pathetic.They refuse to help so let's let the police ask some questions and see if they put that post office training to use and lie to them.

Speak with the local Post Master. If you are not satisfied or suspect a crime was committed, contact the Postal Inspectors. They investigate all criminal offenses involving the post office or mail. It is a federal crime and the local police will no usually become involved.

First Off take a deep breath and relax for a moment. First, What do you mean " Mis Sent and Mis Routed " There are a couple reasons that this could of happened, but perhaps the most common one seen is the fact that it lacked the proper address, a forgotten or mixed up digit in a zip code can mean allot. I worked for the post office and if you could see how somethings are addressed it amazes me that they ever make it to where they are intended to go, China especially. In china, outside of the larger Cities, very few persons know English, let alone write or translate it and many times the packages and the way they are addressed show it. So now you have started the wheels in motion at the post office, they will do a search for your item and trace the route your Item was sent, this may take a couple days, I would say you will receive your Package, but until then I would remain in contact with your local Post Office with 1 call a day, and remember that they are trying to find your package.

Stealing or interfering with United States mail is a federal crime, and needs to be reported to the United States Postal Inspectors. (See link below.)

Ive had the same problem with the USPS. All I got was the run around. Eventually they admitted they delivered it to another apartment (had to be signed for) but wouldn't tell me why or who signed. I tried to be polite and it got me nowhere. I ended up just giving up on ever seeing that and cussed out every useless manager they would connect me with. Then the refused to deliver any mail unless I said I was sorry. I just pay my bills online now. I wasn't saying sorry for their stupidity.

Unless the sender sender sent it with a return receipt, then you are out of luck.

Who exactly stole it?

What proof do you have?
