Depending on the temperature outside, the body heat from three people in a tent usually keeps it quite warm. Otherwise you should rely on your clothing, sleeping bags and/or blankets to keep you warm. You should never run stoves, heaters, nor keep anything with an open flame inside a tent. In an enclosed space the carbon monoxide and other poisonous gases can build up and make you sick or even kill you, while tents made of synthetic material like nylon are highly flammable.

If you can run an electric cord, there are small inexpensive electric heaters (about the size of a tissue box) you can get a Wal-Mart and such places. They do a really good job of cranking out some heat.
For games, cards are great. Story telling, especially if you can add an "imposter" twist, try to decide if the person is telling the truth or not. FUN! Board games without little pieces.
Snacks - cans of nuts, licorice, pretzels, stuff that is not messy. Chips and popcorn leave that slime on your hands, you don't need that. Healthy snacks? How about some whole wheat crackers or fruit? Grapes would be good, because they are great cold.
Have a great time!

A foam or similar type pad underneath.
some thermal blankets , flannel sheets, and comforters should
keep you snug. A good sleeping bag will too. Tent size also
will determine a lot too. hand held video games, board games or
even card games will do fine. snacks should be something that
won't put a lot of crumbs everywhere,i.e., chips, popcorn,etc.
Instead choose items like granola bars, dark chocolate bars,
grapes, or yogurt cups. Be sure you have a place to put your
trash. I don't advise any nuts in case one or more of you might
be allergic to them. If either of you require medicines of any type,
please be sure you take them as prescribed. ABOVE ALL:
Remember you can always go back in the house should any
problems arise.

put something on the floor a quilt or camping mats to stop the cold from the ground, make sure your feet are warm & head, that should do as some one says 3 in a small tent will keep it resonably warm,
also sleep away from the edge of the tent,
have fun

have your mom or dad pick up some "body warmers" at the camping supply store or wal mart. these are small packets that get warm once you open the package. they don't get hot enough to burn or hurt, they are very safe and we use them all the time when hunting in the snow, or winter camping. Just tuck a couple down inside your sleeping bag by your feet and one or two more up near your torso area. you will sleep snug and warm.

Since you're in the backyard you could plug in an electric blanket. Popcorn, nuts, and granola bars are good snacks.
A deck of playing cards are fun.
