No you wouldn't, unless you were at a convention of cardiologists. The cardiologists would add it to the suppoly of drinking water if they could. Good question!

This is really weird that I happened upon your question. I too, take Lipitor and my doctor just increased my dosage from 20mg to 40mg. I have a weak liver from being diabetic, and I feel that my doctor is not looking at my overall health problems. I am worried about taking that much Lipitor, but don't know how to approach my doctor. Also, she made me feel "stupid" last appt., because I couldn't tell "HER" the mg of all the medications that "SHE" prescribed for me. How do I handle this with her. Also, she "says" I have high bp but I don't think so, and has doubled that. However, because I "occasionally" need a xanax for overwhelmed situations in my life she wants to send me to a psychiatrist.....can someone help me?

You are definitely not alone. I believe it is one big scam just like alot of other products. If I am remembering right Lipitor is the one that is supposed to help lower cholesterol. Lipitor still has to be used while dieting and exercising and there is the slight chance of lowering cholestorel which doesn't have a guarantee. Side effects are almost always what you are trying to prevent or they are worse then what you already have.

The Cholesterol Hypothesis of coronary artery disease is a complete SHAM .
Statin drugs are dangerous and ONLY help a VERY VERY small percentage of the population (middle aged men WITH severe CHD and diabetics) and the WAY they do it slightly is INDEPENDENT OF CHOLESTEROL - LOWERING.
It is due to their OTHER 11 pleotropic effects.
STATIN DRUGS ARE A SCAM

THE CHOLESTEROL HYPOTHESIS IF CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE IS A COMPLETE SHAM WITH NO BASIS IN SCIENCE.
DO THE RESEARCH ON THIS.
STATINS ARE VERY DANGEROUS DRUGS WITH MAJOR SIDE EFFECTS AND VERY LITTLE BENEFIT.
AND ANY BENEFIT THEY DO HAVE IN A VERY SMALL PERCENT OF THE POPULATION (MIDDLE AGED MEN WITH SEVERE CHD AND DIABETICS) HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH CHOLESTEROL LOWERING.
IT HAS TO DO WITH THEIR 11 PLEOTROPIC EFFECTS.
