aww, Ishvarlan thinks I'm cute.
I beg to differ with your contention registering with the UN is compulsory, tho. JW registration with the UN was done voluntarily to benefit their ministry. Once the masses had a cow about it, the registration was rescinded, but I think you were members for like.. 10 years. tsk tsk.

Naturally, they are going to deny ever having had an affiliation with anything UN. This has been a fiasco that they would like to sweep under the rug just as they have with many others. The Watch Tower us just like an unremorseful who is only sorry that he got caught.
There are alot og helpful reseources for refuting WT doctrine at www.brci.org. There you will also see a letter from the UN's NGO section explaining how it and the WT parted ways, so when the JWs deny this, you have the proof. You can also request a free packet of info. from this organization at their toll-free help-line at 1-800-WHY-1914. . Yes, this is the actual phone number. You leave your mailing address on the machine and they will send you a packet of very helpful resources. Or you can write to them at: Help-Line, P.O. Box 241005, Milwaukee, WI 53224.
Some of the pamphlets they sent me were entitled, "The Faithful and Discreet Slave & JWs", "Do JWs Really Abstain from Blood?", "JWs & Their Different Good News","JW' Shunning, is it Scriptural?", "Does God Work Through an Organization?", and more. . .
EDIT: I went to the site I linked and the NGO letter is no longer there, but they did mail it to me when I requested the info. packet.
Alter Ego: do you realize that there are just as many pagan roots in the marriage ceremony? Rings, bridesmaids that were actually supposed to sheild the bride from evil spirits who might attack her on her wedding day, flower girl, etc.?? HMMM.
Ishvar: What on earth does registering for the draft have to do with being a member of the UN? Besides, if you feel it is breaking the law not to register for the draft, then how would it not be breaking the law if milliary service became compulsary and you refused to go? Why register at all? If you're going to choose the WT over the government, why not go 100%? I really don't get it at all.
Pedi C: you ARE cute. Not because you got cute with the question, but because you just are naturally. :D

I'm a Jehovah's Witness and have been for the past 14 years, basically since I was born, I've always attended the meetings and gone on the ministry and so on... and not once have I, or any other Jehovah's Witnesses, as far as I am aware, because of course, there may be some who secretly do or ones I don't know personally that do... but as an organization, we don't celebrate it.

Cute spamming. As you no doubt realised, we certainly don't support a specific government institution. Following legal channels and registering with something isn't the same as supporting it/giving allegiance to it.
Consider, all males in the US 18 are supposed to register. As law abiding citizens we register, however, were to be drafted, we would then refuse military activity.

Yawn. I see you haven't found anything better to do in life.
You REALLY need a new hobby!
Of course Jehovah's Witnesses will not have any celebration, as you well know.

What a riot.
"Run Around" lyrics
One time ,run around,
Don’t look and for me to go your way
You left me here with out anything to love
I’ll tell you
I’ve….. had…. enough of your hands running round my brain,
And… I’ve….. had have enough of the way that you cause me pain

Their organization is not allowing them to celebrate that. And they do not dare to disobey.

I heard they are going to have a parade. As the Watchtower float goes down the street, all the jw's will have to throw money at it.
