Soy milk is very good. I loooove the sweeten kind. There are many good effects of soy milk, but there have been bad reasons for your health too. I personally think that as long as you don't drink too much, you'll be fine. Drinking anything excessively is bad.

Soy milk is a processed food that contains estrogen analogues.
I try not to eat unnatural processed foods, i think the further you take a food away from its original source, the harder it is for the body to get at the good stuff and get rid of the bad stuff.
The estrogen analogues are the final nail in the coffin. Hormone levels are incredibly important to the body, especially to growing children.
when i have kids i want them to be able to make it through puberty with a correct hormoane balance.
I want any boys to have broad shoulders a deep voice and a proper set of tools...
I want any girls to have normal size breasts that wont pull thier spine out of place and i want them to have they rightfully working sex drive.
Many people say that soy has been consumed safely for a very long time, this is true but it is not the whole truth.
its a half storey that is used to justify the product.
Traditionally soy was fermented for a very long time before it was used.
the fermentation processes destroys the estrogen analogues.
Even then, soy sauce (the black stuff) was traditionally used as a condiment, not drunk like water and poured on cereal everyday.
Regardless of all of what ive just said, the simple facts of the matter are that there is nothing in soy that cannot be found in a natural plant based alternatives.
why take the chance?
the milks dont even have calcium, they are fortified. theres much more bio-available calcium in leafy green vegetables, plenty of iron too.
theres also alot more better protien sources too, like legumes, nuts, seeds and grains.

It can be bad for you A. If you consume way too much of it and B. If the soy is not organic
Another fantastic alternative to soy milk that I have just recently discovered is hemp milk. It actually tastes better to me then soymilk and it also provides you with a balanced amount of Omega 3s and 6s. The brand I use is Living Harvest:

I love it too..the way it can be bad for you is if you drink too much. Anything is bad if you over do it.
FYI...there are many websites saying soy products are bad for you. There are even some that say soy is toxic...yet it is in almost everything we eat..that is processed..like frozen pizzas for example. Make sure you where the info is coming from before you believe it. Do some research..I think that 100 grams of soy is okay a day...but I'm not sure.

The dairy industry would LOVE it if you believed that soy milk and other soy products were poison.
I have had soy milk everyday for the past five years and I've gained 40 pounds of muscle since then. The information that has reached you was most likely actually paid for by the dairy and/or meat industries.

There haven't been any conclusive studies done about soy products. That being said, soy has been consumed for generations without any noticeable side effects, but to be on the safe side, some doctors advise you limit your soy intake to 2 servings daily.

soy milk is not bad for you.... sorry.... dairy milk is bad for you. (the conspiracy rages on) this is also the same people who say eggs don't give you high cholesterol.. lmfao!
soy is not bad for you. i'm still alive and my health is better than average.
think about it.. soy gives you cancer? huh? soy makes you gay? HUH???? soy makes you an atheist???!!!!
along with other "studies" soymilk is definately much more better for you in the long run than fatty, buttery dairy milks. (like regular milk doesn't make your triglycerides too high.. riiight!) i haven't heard yet anyone having an intolerance to soymilk.

It can be bad for you if you're allergic to it, or if you drink an excess of it, as with regular milk. Too much of anything can cause you health problems, and you just have to know what the limit is for the particular item. I would say if you don't stray above a gallon a day, you'll be fine.

I've heard of tons of people with an intolerance for soy milk, elvis p. It's called soy allergy, and it's quite common.
If my nephew consumes any amount of soy, his throat will swell shut, and he will die.
To your question, drink it in moderation. Having too much of anything will knock your diet off balance.

Definitely yes. Try getting them fresh in the morning with a little bit of sugar. The ones from the Chinese plastic bottles take different but still good. Although I think the American kinds taste a bit funny.
