There are various types of vegi-burger .. some are bean based, some are mushroom based, etc, etc.
I would recommend trying a few different types until you find one that you like or, even better, don't eat vegi-burgers. There are a lot of alternatives available. Personally I would lean more towards trying a portabella mushroom cap instead.
I am not a vegetarian, but I have cooked thousands of vegetarian dishes and think that the vegetarian section of the freezer at the local supermarket should always be a last rsort.

When I first became vergetarian, I went out and got the vegiburgers too, but was just as surprised when I ended up not really liking them. I tried a bunch of different kinds and found myself still disappointed. I've been a vegetarian for awhile now and I'm still not extremely fond of them.
I suggest that you try different varieties. Boca and Morning Star are the most abundant and they are fairly cheap, so you don't have to worry about wasting money if you don't like them. Again, there are soy based burgers, bean based burgers and mushrooms based burgers. Give them all a try to see which you like best.
Once you've found one that you like, try seasoning it up with a little salt, garlic and onion powder and some pepper. Then add cheese, cilantro, and avocado, or anything that you would add to a normal burger. Don't forget ketchup, mustard, etc. All of them really make vegiburgers taste a lot better.
If after all of that you still find that they aren't your cup of tea, don't be discouraged. Morning Star makes a delicious "Chikin Patty". I absolutely love them to death, and they taste exactly like real chicken. I make chicken burgers, Orange Glazed Chicken, even old fashioned chicken and mashed potatoes with them. They are great!
The most important thing for you to do would be to test different things out and find out what you like the best. There are so many options out there. And just like with regular everyday food there is always going to be some things you like and some things that you don't.

It depends on the kind of veggie burger you're eating. Hopefully, you shouldn't need to put anything on it beyond the things you'd normally but on a regular burger, ketchup and the like. Perhaps you ought to try a different kind of burger. I am rather fond of just about anything from Garden Burger, and many from Morningstar Farms and Boca are good, too.

I also think the (Boca) soy burgers are a bit bland. I'm not a vegan (my fiance is) so I might put cheese on it, and either ketchup or maybe Ranch dressing. You might want to try the soy chicken patties. A bit more expensive than the burgers, but, to me anyway, they taste just like regular chicken patties.

My favorite veggie burgers are Morningstar Farms Prime Grillers and Boca Burgers. Both taste great on a bun with ketchup and mustard just like regular burgers. There's no need to add any spices to make them taste better. Give them a try. I'm sure you'll like them.

Not all brands taste the same. Make your own out of fake gound beef or try different brands. Personally, I like boca burgers. and morningstar is the only decent veggie dog.
