Most of the populations will test accurately at 6 weeks. The numbers are even better at 3 months, as the CDC says. You can rely on your results.

Yes.
A negative HIV antibody test after 5 months is extremely reliable.
While HIV symptoms may take years to develop, the changes detected on a blood test are there within 3 months, 99% of the time.

If you are concerned about it why don't you go to your doctor or local free clinic and get it tested again? Some places offer rapid HIV testing that only takes like 30 minutes for your results. Also you will be able to find out if it is a rash or something else.

If his result was negative, Im pretty sure that means he doesn't have it. The ejaculation isn't the only thing that carries the HIV. Any fluid including pre-*** transfers HIV. I would trust the test. Or go to a free clinic for another. Its free.

Yes I would say after 5 months, if you have not had sex at all, that it is reliable. The people that show up after 5/6 months are rare cases. According to the CDC website, it says that 97% of people infected will show antibodies after the first 3 months.

the window period for HIV antibodies to appear in the body after initial infection is usually 3 months. in a few people it can take up to six months to show up. if you want to be 100% sure abstain from sex for at the next month or two and get retested. let this be a lessoned learned...NEVER have unprotected sex. it just isnt worth the risk.

No. A negative test doesn't mean as much as most people may think.

HIV can take years to show up...so even if the test is valid and it came back negative it might not show up for several more years.
