Ive read that soy milk causes estrogen levels to increase, but so does pcos and Im already at a risk for ovarian cancer because of pcos...

Do you trust these new studies on soy milk?

If I have to give soy up, I wont drink any milk I guess. Unless someone has any other milk suggestions?

And before some anti vegan comes trolling along to tell me all about how great real milk is, Im NOT allowed to drink it. So dont waste your time, I dont want to hear it.

I haven't heard that soy increases the risk for cancer or causes increases in hormone levels, but ask your doctor. It seems less processed forms of soy--such as edamame, tofu, and soy milk--might be okay.

I tend not to trust the studies, as they're likely put out by antivegan and antisoy organizations. Never mind that cows' milk is loaded with hormones, they'll tell you about all the phytoestrogens in soy. Which have a far lower effect than artificial hormones.

Sorry I haven't got a definitive answer for you. I've heard so many things about soy milk that I don't know what to believe. In Thailand though they sell it everywhere and drink it more than we drink cow's milk in the west. They seem to be doing fine but I'm no scientist.

If you can't drink soy milk then maybe you could try rice milk or almond milk? Even if you 'could' drink cows milk I wouldn't recommend it. My hayfever and eczema's dissapeared since I gave it up. It's good for baby cows but not humans.

If you're concerned about soy milk, talk to your gynecologist and see what she thinks. You can also try rice milk, almond milk, etc... there are several different options that aren't soy or dairy (most have no calcium just so you know.)

I don't know whether soy milk causes cancer or not, but can you drink rice or almond milk?

Most dairy herds these days are TB tested. There will always be a small risk, but it can't be sold in shops unless it has been pasteurized. I used to be a herdsman. I drank milk and cream straight from the cow.

You guys are idiots.Vitamin C causes cancer. Yeah. There are studies that have shown vitamin C to cause cancer in rats. You can get anything to cause some sort of cancer if you really want but... Soy is fine. It is the Meat & Diary industry that is worried. They have paid a well known New Zealand company http://www.soyonlineservice.co.nz/articles/soycancerwarning.htm to host a website that states otherwise. It is a long story, but basically they can take one item out of the source (Vitamin C for example) that may cause cancer, and by definition say that soy causes cancer. It is pure brainwashing folks.

Almond milk is really good and it has a better flavor and higher calcium content than rice milk.
