Because they can, or so I've heard. I almost went on a climbing expedition, just to get away from everything. It wasn't 8000m but would have still been quite an adventure. People want to be the first to do things and this is getting more scarce pushing people to do more extreme things to be the best or first.

I don't know I think that like there hobby. Its something they like to do. Speaking for myself I would never do that because I'm scared of height.
