Just another avenue for you if all else fails, how about contacting your local Rotary Club ? There are Rotary Club's all over Thailand, and maybe they have someone in the area you wish to send your items.

Boy. Some wild answers above.. Work for everyone? But the person admits never having been here. However, I do admit, giving can be a tricky process.
Thai airways would be easy to contact. The rotary suggestion also sounds good, but your question raises questions for me.
Where are you sending this from? Why toiletries and what type? It is possible/probable that they can be purchased here for less than the cost of the shipping again depending on answers to above. Are you sending it to a specific orphange that you know of? - If not - why Thailand?
I have done a fair amount of volunteer work both here and abroad and with mixed results though I regret none of it. But, knowledge helps. If you want to contact me personally with answers to the above questions, I would be glad to help if I can.. Thanks for doing a good deed.

Well done, Cobra, in your answer!
I have visited Malaysia and Singapore, but I have to admit that I have not been north of that, so not Thailand.
If you have visited, you will be told that there is no social security - because there is no unemployment - there are jobs for all if they decide to do them. You will see 'disabled people' begging on bridges in Kuala Lumper - but you will also see them get up and walk away! In Singapore you can be fined for giving money to beggars!
I admire the fact that you are trying to help people - but I am not sure that you have found the right place - and the person that suggested contacting a place in Phuket, well, that is a very wealthy area!
It doesn't work all of the time - but if you realy want to make a donation, then please contact the Red Cross.
Many years ago, we sent bundles of things over to Romania because of a TV programme by Annika Rice - you might remember it! If not, please ask the BBC for information.
I also have to say that my brother used to work in Nairobi, Kenya. This is country often looking for charity. My brother used to come back to England asking for clothing for young children because they were begging on the streets and half naked into the bargain. What it turned out to be was that as soon as the half naked child begging on the street was given something to wear, the father would come and take the clothing away. The first reason was that if the child was wearing clothes, it would not receive as much in its begging bowl as the child without clothes. The second reason was that the father would be able to sell the clothing to finance his alcohol habit!
Be careful - sending toiletries over might sound harmless enough, but if there is a market, it could have something to do with terrorism!

I would like to thank you about your merit mind for all orphanage in Thailand. I guess you will send it to Thailand by air cargo service but you will have many expensation for this. I will introduce you should contact the Thai Embassy in your country and send it by the name of the embassy because they have budget for your expensation.
It is the best way for doing this.

Why do you need to send toiletries to Thailand when they have vast amounts of them already there?
Beware of charities in Thailand - they are the most crooked and corrupt in the world. My friends went to see an orphanage that they had been suppoting and there was nothing there. Thailand is not really a poor country either.
I don't mean to sound cynical, but please be sure you are not being ripped off. Many of their scams are very sophisticated and generate huge amounts of money.

Contact the "PIWC Phuket International Womans Club". They might be grateful for any gift since they sponsor poor children in need.

that 'one of your friends' of yours surely never been to malaysia thailand and vietnam coz he's totally wrong about the "hard" part, the "extra supplies" part, the "not using the same toileteries" part and definitely the "really expensive" part. let us know the brands of shampoo and shower gels that you're currently using, and we'll help you find where (either in local or leading stores, or in pharmacies) and how much that you should pay.. welcome and have a nice trip!
