I was dating a wonderful guy for almost 3 months. Everything seemed to be going great, we got along amazingly, spent every weekend together. He had been out of a relationship with his ex for more than 15 months (he was with her for 4 years) and told me he was over her. However the ex has a daughter (not his); who he adores and feels almost as if it is his daughter. I saw no problem in him spending time with the little girl as he had raised her and he loved her. However, two weeks ago, the ex, being "nice" told my boyfriend that since he was now with me, it was best he didn't stay in contact with her (i.e. he wouldn't be able to see the little girl much any more). (I didn't know about this "offer" BTW). So, out of the blue, last week he sat me down and said he didn't think it was working -he was looking for all the good points of his ex in a new relationship and could tell I wasn't right for him. I think it has more to do with losing the little girl. Should I just let him go?

I think you should let him go - after all - what else can you do? It sounds like he sincerely liked you, but there are too many other things unresolved in his life for him to really be able to focus on you as well. Just be glad you had a happy time together and he had the decency to end it in a civilised manner. Better three good months than a decade of ****.

Sorry but he has to make up his own mind. Just leave him alone for now. If you push and he doesn't get to see the little girl he will eventually blame you and the relationship wont last anyway. He is putting the child first which is commendable some men but not all don't or wouldn't do that. 15 months really isn't that long of a time even more so since a child was involved. Give him time if he comes around so be it but if he doesn't you have to let it go.

I am soooo sorry he is doing this to you. You don't have much of a choice. He made his decision to be with the ex cuz he is attached to the daughter. It was NOTHING you did!!! It sounds like he is having a hard time closing that door on his past. The chick letting an ex visit her daughter, and then say he can't anymore cuz he is seeing someone else sounds like she isn't letting him move on and wants him back. Or if he wants to be single cuz of an ex that's his own doing not yours. Sounds like they both aren't ready to move on, yet they broke up for a reason. He should have discussed how moving on into another relationship would effect the relationship with the ex and the daughter before he started something with you. Thats not fair to you. I say go to a male strip club with yur gurls, get your drink on, have fun and another guy unattached to his past will come along. Good luck!!

From what you have said... yeah, you can still fight for him if you love him too much to let him go.

Kidnap that little girl and make her your own.

Then that guy will stick with u forever.

If his 'ex' still pose to be a problem, get her out of the way.
