The U.S. has a technical edge; the missiles are more accurate and the MIRV's are also. The Russians have larger missiles with more powerful engines with larger single and multiple warheads. From the impact point of view both will do the job but the U.S. could do a more "surgical" strike though if launched it really would not matter.

The U.S. After the collapse of the Soviet Union the Russian Federation decided to use its military rockets to launch satellites into space instead of using civilian-type rockets being launched from the Balkenor Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. All of the rockets failed to reach orbit and splashed down in the Sea of Japan or the Western Pacific. And those were their vaunted SS-20 missiles.

My answer to this question is complicated. But in simple terms of numbers and capabilities, the U.S. has better missiles. U.S. Missiles are simply longer range, far more accurate, safer, and there are more of them. Even seeing as the numbers of the Russian stockpile approach those of the U.S., Russia simply can't keep their weapons active because of their turbulent newly capitalist economy.

The US missiles are more accurate (at least, that's what is commonly believed). However, the Russian missiles generally hold more (in quantity and power) warheads. Russia has almost always held a "quantity over quality" viewpoint post-WWII. So, once again, it really comes down to what are your qualifications for comparison.

Do you really have to ask. America has everything Russia has but better. Everytime America and Russia were competing to invent something russia would always claim to finish it first, and later down the road we find out not only did they not finish first, but they still didnt even get it done. Its happened dozens of times. They are all talk and show, they try to intimidate us. JFK knew thats why he didnt play games with them.
