You can't just pick and choose what you want from a buffet of different religions. God wants our undivided hearts.

I guess that would depend on your religions beliefs. If you pick and choose what you believe out of different religions then they need to follow the rule of the Bible. I am a Christian and there are things in a lot of different religions that I believe in, but in the end the Bible is the Truth and that teaching must be followed. So the answer to your question would be acceptable? sure, objectionable? maybe. GOD BLESS!!

If you are following the teachings from the Bible, than that is your religion because all the teachings that come from the Bible are about the way you live your life on the outside with what the Bible teaches. The Word teaches people that are believers and followers to do as written without taking or adding anything you desire.
When you choose to follow the Word of God, you must follow the Word to all that you can take in. It is not acceptable to God to use this of His, and not use that of His.

Many people have different religions. I myself grew up baptized Anglican, raised in a Catholic school and taught the ways of a Buddhist and a Witness. I have come to the conclusion that the bible is based on a person but I do not believe that they all happened per se. I believe that the bible is composed of stories for the good of man kind. Stories to teach and learn from as well as run peoples lives. The basic rules of society are all in the bible. It is common knowledge that people cannot stand change or something that is unexplained and so these stories are there for us in those times. Because I do not believe in the bible does not mean I don not believe in god, I do in fact believe in god but not in the reliant way others do. The universe is so perfect in the way it operates that I believe there is some Devinne being behind the mechanism. For all those out there who do believe the bible I respect their opinion and in answer to your question no I do not think it would be unacceptable for you to live by your own religion as long as you are not cause trouble or hurting yourself.

Well you can decide to take what you like about a religion, but you are not then following any religion. In Christianity, God wants all, not some, so maybe you'll find that passage as you read the Bible.

Following of religion and their practice is not as important as living as a good individual to the society. All religions are created to convert people that way.

Wow you receive a great form of convoluted and puzzling, contradictory solutions, did not you? If I have been you i'd be much greater puzzled than i grew to become into formerly the question grew to become into asked. My suggestion is to bypass seek advice from somebody in the Unitarian Universalist church. From what I examine on your question, you look to have faith what they suspect. i think of you're a solid guy or woman who loves God and tries annoying to handle others nicely and you in basic terms do not desire to purchase in to all of the Bible says. it incredibly is talked approximately as intelligence. :) i'm not a UU myself, yet they are remarkable, form, affected person people who would desire to truly furnish help to out and answer a number of your questions. There are UU churches in fairly much each and every city. advantages on you!

To please our Creator, we need to accept everything that HE says, instead of picking & choosing what Seems good to Us, from what Others say about Him:
" The Be·roe′ans were... noble-minded, for they received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so." Acts 17:10,11 http://watchtower.org/bible/ac/chapter_017.htm?bk=ac;chp=17;vs=10-11;citation#bk10
"Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world." --1 John 4:1 http://watchtower.org/bible/1jo/chapter_004.htm?bk=1jo;chp=4;vs=1;citation#bk1
"My son, if you will receive my sayings and treasure up my own commandments with yourself, ... ... ... In that case you will understand righteousness and judgment and uprightness, the entire course of what is good." --Proverbs 2:1-9
http://watchtower.org/bible/pr/chapter_002.htm?bk=pr;chp=2;vs=1-9;citation#bk1
"Make Sure of all things; hold fast to what is fine." http://watchtower.org/bible/1th/chapter_005.htm?bk=1th;chp=5;vs=21;citation#bk21
It is God whom we need to please, rather than ourselves.
By learning to do so, we also will be pleased with the outcome. (:

basically, if you follow your own religion and your own belief system, nobody can tell you if it's right or not.
fundamentalists will tell you it's all wrong, but that's their take on life, you dont need to adopt it.
