I think about it. Get rid of all the hassles with family, friends etc.
But the problen is that no matter where I go, there I am

I think it's normal.
I've had the woods fantasy for when my husband comes home from work and right out the door to play soccer and ride his bike almost every night.
My current fantasy goes like this--I leave all my credit cards, laptop and phone on the table with a note that my car is in the airport parking lot.
I sell off some jewelry on the way for cash and quietly settle in some nice, scenic eastern European town.
Not selfish, I don't have kids or a job...
But, just to show you that everyone thinks these things :)

I almost just did this like a month ago and then I was like, "oh I'm a dork and I'm being selfish." I had like $120 to my name and I had just had my baby, so my hormones were going nuts. She was like 5 days old and I left her at home with my husband while I went to the store for something and just started driving. I got about a half hour away and thought, 'what the hell am I doing? I love this baby more than anything in the whole world." And then I came home and said there was a long line at the grocery store. And my husband said "oh. really," And then he went off and did his thing and I never even told him. Ya, sometimes having a baby makes you nuts. :)

So many times! I used to fantasize about just packing up what's most important to me, throwing my dogs in the car, and disappearing. Actually, I still do fantasize about that sometimes. Sometimes I just want to walk away from everything and start over again like I'm starting a brand new life from scratch, like I can be a whole new person. Yeah it's kinda selfish, but sometimes you just feel like you need to escape. Maybe I can keep myself from actually doing it one of these days.

One problem is that you'll get hungry and have to learn to hunt. You'll get thirsty and have to find a way to get pure water. You'll have to find how to make a fire to purify the water and stay warm. You'll have to find some new clothes b/c the ones your wearing will wear away. You'll also have to find a way to protect yourself from any bears or mountain lions. Overall, you'll find that it's more work to survive in the wilderness than to stay at home. Maybe you could find a hobby like a sport or attend religious services more often. Volunteering in your community can also help. You can consider these your more safe wilderness adventure.

Not that exactly, but I was wanting to just sign over the house , the cars, and all the bank accounts and just walk away.
My counselor told me it would be a big mistake, so I didn't.

Yes. I have imagined this many times. You feel so alone anyway, why not just disappear? I get it. But don't do it. It won't solve anything. Besides, there's bears out there and it's cold! ;o)
Wishing you the best.

I don't find it selfish. I find it very sad as a desperate gesture. I'd think that someone has a very unhappy life and this is very sad.
