I asked about firemen b/c that is what some of my friends do.... no one else keeps condiments out or would admit to it. Only they admit to it, and were surprised it's not everyone who does it.

I am not a firefighter, but the Worchestershire stay in the cupboard. All the others go in the fridge. I've even known people who refrigerate soy sauce and vinegar. (???)

Why do firemen in particular do that? Anyway, I keep mine in the cupboard because I'm a neat freak and like the kitchen bench space kept clear. Mayo should really be kept in the fridge but I guess they go through it so fast it wouldn't really matter.

RIGHT! Mayo should be kept refigerated and everything else is kept in a cupboard, too much mess on show and too much stuff to shift to clean properly and easily, its a kitchen not a display room, i LOVE my kitchen, but worksurfaces should be clutter free, hygiene!

That's bizarre... I generally like my condiments cold.
