Yes I am the accomplice, and yes, I know it wasn't nice but please, PLEASE remain calm and assertive. (Those who want a second lick feel free to)

Although originally the task was to see which group used the most reasoning, we feel that we didn't achieve anything because there were so many factors we did not account for. One thing is people probably felt it was easier to type short slanders then explaining their beliefs in long answers and also probably didn't feel obliged to answer such an obnoxious question, and speaking of slanders, well, this is YA, not a science conference, so we really couldn't expect anything more. :D

So the question is-
Both groups claim to have reasons behind their beliefs,
yet there is no definitive answer. Should people really jump into conclusion about God, even though there is not enough viable evidence for both against, and for the existence of God, if so give reason?

Belief is not a process of rational thought
(even for religion)

No there is no proof what so ever that there is or isn't a god and anyone who says differently probably needs to really think over what they claim. It's all personal beliefs, a choice.I simply choose not to believe there is a god, but that doesn't mean that I can prove there isn't.I only wish everyone could realize that and just respect each other and listen to the arguments presented by those of the opposite belief in a civilized manner.Although I admit that I myself get defensive when asked questions that right out insult my beliefs.

"So the question is-

You see, as scientific and reasonable you want to appear as being about all of this, you lack certain things.

The most important issue that I would discuss with you is the evidence issue. There is ample evidence of God, you just don't have it. I have it, but it's not up to me to give it to you. I can testify of it, but you still will not have it even after I tell you where to find it.

So I am saying that there is evidence. Denying the evidence is your prerogative, have at it. But the evidence is His Spirit; the Spirit of God. The connection to that, or why the Spirit would even come up is because Jesus promised it at the end of John 15 and in the midst of John 16. The word of God, if the Bible is the word of God, states quite clearly that the Holy Spirit would be involved in the world after Jesus ascended. So the scriptural evidence is there, and now you have Testimonial Evidence to work with.

So it's your move. You either believe the evidence or you don't. Choose not to, and deny the evidence which is before you.

"Belief is not a process of rational thought
(even for religion)"
Don't you mean 'especially' for religion? Or are you truly approaching this as fair as you want us to believe? Is anyone involved with your experiment a Christian? I would lean towards 'no'. Is that a belief that I am approaching with rational thought?

It was unfortunate I was not able to share my thougths. We present the same idea because the Word of God never change, it is consistent from the beginning.

Logic from the Greek means logos or word.

Christ is the Living Word that is why He is the only source of our logic.

Reasoning...

There is no better reasons than what is written in the Written Word...

Proverbs 14:12
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Proverbs 16:25
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Well i am agnostic but would definitly not go for god. There is no real proof that god existed but there is no real proof that he didnt exist either. I honeslty do not thinkhe existed and i think christians etc... should think about this... why am i following a book!!!! (the bible) You dont even have any proof that the bible wasnt just written as a get rich quick scheme or just a random book that was never meant to sell very well or something. Wheres the proof it was written all those years ago its not like you can ask the people that wrote it. I think christians etc.. are following a blind faith and i dont think it is worth while worshipping a book and you cant say you dont because the bible is what your whole religion is based on!!! Also christians claim to be very respectful towardsa everyones culture but then how come they are constantly trying to shove christianity down our throats. I dont like going down he town on saturdays and sundays because there are always preachers out in the street stopping people trying to convert them!!!! If people want to hear all that **** they will go to church they dont need to be hassled about it on the weekends when they just want peace and quiet to do what they want.

I respect everyones views and i think dont mind me saying that most atheists and agnostics would respect everyones views but christians are too stuck up with their own religion they dont like it if someone is different and doesnt follow their stinking religion.

Like i say i respect everyones views and i wouldnt ever try to convert them, mak them believe god was a fake because thats my beliefs and not everyone is going to think the same but i just wish christians etc could learn to respect others views for once.

In all honesty Christians do not even believe in their own religion.

That's why there is over 90 "official" denominations and I am sure there are 1000's of "unofficial" ones out there. If they believed in it, why would they argue so much with what is right and wrong then try to change it.

This can be said about most religions. Not bashing religion at all, it is a very good thing for those who are involved and believe in it.

You're right about this not being a science conference. The fact your questions were poorly designed for the test you wished to construct is evidence of this.

Try researching double-blind tests.

It's hard to prove the existence, or even non-existence of any God from any religion, so I think it's best to practice tolerance and keep your mind open.

I'm agnostic - neither believing or disbelieving any religion, since any or none at all could be true.

your test is seriously flawed. where is your control group. and the numbers needed to make the test statistically valid are too small. it is also not a representive section of the population. try again.

just what i would expect from someone with such a contrived, emotive definition of atheism.

atheist is someone who does not believe in god, but requires proof of god's existence.

The science is still out on God, but Christianity is easy to prove false. Carbon date the Earth. Sure Christians can believe that the devil can confound our equipment with is Black Magic, but let's face it, that is irrational.
So this isn't Christians vs Atheism, it's Deism vs Atheism.
If we can prove one thing wrong about anything, then the whole thing is subject to being wrong and nothing within it can be taken as definitively true. QED.

Oh come on, this is far too engaging to try to end. And it's fun watching Christians turn in circles on the same arguments time after time after time.
