I have read and even answered a hundred of these types of questions. And it doesn't seem to really matter. People are going to believe whatever they want to believe.
The things that one learns in one's first 5-8 years are the things hardwired into his/her growing brain. Once that happens, it is almost impossible to change one's views.
For the record, the Gospel of Judas is just like some of the other Apocrypha that were discovered somewhat late. They are every bit as valid as any other part of the Canon, despite what the Catholic Church wants to believe. Remember that their goal is not God's work. Their goal is God's work so long as it keeps them central and powerful in people's lives. That is their central motivation in deciding what's truth and what's not.
Personally, after a thourough investigation of all available materials and opinions through the course of the last 20 years, I think religion, ALL religion, is dangerous and harmful to the human race and to our planet. It has done far more evil than good. And most of it is just pure nonsense.

The Gospel of Judas is a post-apostolic fabrication, a work of pure fiction aimed to discredit and counter the True Gospels. Just because it is ancient doesn't at all mean it is genuine and authentic. Clearly it is the work of an “ancient forger”, because its claims do not correspond to the other Gospel accounts which, in fact, do cross-support each other. The Gospel of Judas is completely out of sync and a lone voice with absolutely no cross-support or collaboration. Consequently, it is false, and should be completely rejected.

Written by Gnostics, which makes it unreliable. Gnostics take existing works and change them to suit their beliefs so things make more sense to them. Islam loves Gnostic forgeries such as the "Gospel of Judas" and especially the "Gospel of Barnabas", which was most certainly forged by a Muslim who claimed it was stolen from the Pope's secret stash of scriptures (L O L !!!)

I think Judas had the most interesting story to tell. He was a human being. Obviously, if he knew God was Jesus' dad, he definitely wouldn't have sold him out. Nobody is that stupid. So even then there must not have been any proof connecting Jesus to God.
