Have you ever volunteered for anything in your community? I have been a volunteer firefighter since 1977 in mine. But not as active anymore then I once was. But was best years of my life.

I try to share the gifts that I have with groups that I feel passionate about.
I am good with creating eblasts so I do a monthly newsletter for parents at my son's daycare so that parents and teachers are on the same page.
I volunteer on a monthly basis at my church on Movie Night. They want me to expand into volunteering with the children's program but I have a demanding full time job and can only do what I can.
I used to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and a Senior Home on a weekly basis.
I did a 5k run to raise money this summer for a Breast Cancer Survivor group.
I did a 5k run for Revlon's Breast Cancer --- the cure (my grandmother is a survivor---double masectomy)
I'm on 2 other committees of National Organizations.
Hmmm, I never thought about the ways that I volunteer and it makes me happy because I know that I'm helping others have a better life.

Good for you for being a volunteer firefighter!
I am very active in my community, and I try to attend the monthly neighborhood watch meetings to keep tuned in as to what is going on around me. And here in California, there's a lot!
I have volunteered for community events. I received a nice plaque of Appreciation from our Councilman Dennis Zine for volunteering my professional services as a still photographer for an event. That meant a lot to me.
Keep your memories alive by keeping them close to your heart.

Yes! I volunteered at a hospital and a nursing home.
Also, I'm a Graphic Designer and my mom is involved in many charity fund raisers so I donate my time to design the program booklets. I've also done some similar work for my church.

last year I volunterred for a food drive during thanksgiving and christmas. this year i'm planning the same thing.

i volunteered at harvesters... it was fun, but really hot, but i guess not as hot as fighting fires : )!.it makes me feel good about myself and i'm sure you are a great asset to your community!
