Without using the bible, for which there is no proof of legitimacy.
Tell me why your deity is the creator of the world?

It's the only way for me. It's the only one that makes sense to me. It's the only one that FEELS right. It is shared by people I respect - and seeds of it can be found in all the major religions.

I do not use a bible - though I do have a somewhat odd spiritual library. I don't see a "creator" of the world. I see creatures of spirit coming to a physical existence to learn about stuff - largely relationships and sensations. I believe we come here of our own will and that we choose our circumstances and come with friends. I believe that the God energy facilitates this excursion and that once we are finished we return home, to our energy state, and probably rest a while, then get right back in line to return. This must be the best ride in the park.

It has been suggested that we collectively make up God - that our own energy, as a group, created and maintains this existence for this purpose. I think that idea is facsinating. It seems to imply that we exist, simply because we wish to, as a group.

These beliefs seem to make the most sense to me, after careful deliberation and conversation with a wide variety of people. From this pespective, a lot of the other religions seem to make a bit more sense - as perspectives of this story, largely from geographical considerations.

I mean who would create a doll house with so many people in it to play with and control? Who would expend the energy for us to live a mere 70 years and then rot in a box? Who would fill a world with relationships and sensations and then forbid them to the inhabitants?

No - this is the only thing that makes sense to me.

Peace!

Because he is more real than his creations or their faiths. We are all individuals, standing in a different point on this planet, with different points of view (seeing from a different point of reference). Each of us has our own beliefs. We believe what we choose to believe based on our observations. And we try not to rule out the observations of others, since they can see around a corner that we can't. Most people discover the creator when they get up and move around and accept another's points of view. Then they start to get the Big Picture, and surprise, more pieces of the puzzle get put in place and an image starts to form. Thank you for being a mover and puzzle assembler.

Keep working on the puzzle, keep collecting pieces, if we work together we then we'll eventually complete the whole image.

Personally, I think my Deity is the creator of the universe because, if I ask Him if it is OK if a person gets healed instantly and He says "yes, it's OK", then I pray for them, they get healed. Now a man doesn't need a heart transplant, a woman's back is straight. My friend asked to be healed of terminal cancer and was. He has cleared skys for my little valley for me (the storms part and go around when I ask). When my Kite needs wind, I ask and He provides. When I asked for things beyond my financial means, He provides, and sometimes He provides the frivolous things too.

There are too many reasons to list here, but I hope you get the idea. But none of it would would work without God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit, the 3 in One. And of course accepting His salvation and asking for His Holy Spirit.

Why do they assume that there are only two ways this could be?
(A) God from the bible
(B) Evolution
What about My Goddess or Buddha or any other deity?

They also overlook the fact you asked why they think you believe this....instead choosing to ask a question you have not asked..."Prove it!"

My Answer now?
I do think that My God/desses are real.
I know the creation story from my faith and i used my own logic to come to the conclusion that it is true.
NOT That it is the only way.
Be Blessed

We Christians follow the 2000 year old tradition of putting our faith in Christ alone because, from the point of view of Jesus' contemporaries, He was the only one who was so fervently emphasising the immeasurable spiritual value of love, consideration, empathy, forgiveness, gratitude, compassion, and humility. These values have turned out to be essential ingredients in the soul's difficult, and sometimes painful journey from the so-called 'material world' (which doesn't, in fact, really exist) back to the Core of reality, or 'heaven'. Reality is Spirit, not matter, and that's why such spiritual values as are mentioned above are so important in connection with freedom and fulfillment in life.

I personally believe that a person can achieve enlightenment (or whatever you wish to call it), regardless of what path you follow. I also think that all religions are essentially the same twaddle and claptrap under different names. I'm Pagan myself, however I respect the views of others as long as they're nice about it.

By the way, I really like those people that said their religion "felt right" to them. That SHOULD be the basis of anyone's faith and not that you were born into it or whatever.

That's what's distinguishes religion from spirituality. Spirituality is seeking inner truth and following it wherever it leads you. Religion takes a set of ideas, declares them a priori to be true, and then tries to live with them. It probably worked in simpler societies, but it the modern world it mostly just leads to cognitive dissonance. Which is why so much of what goes on here in R&S is just taunting.

one faith being the only way is what most people are taught to believe. i just have this feeling that my deity is the one who created me, i do believe in evolution, but i also believe that it all had to start somewhere, maybe the big bang has a lot to do with God, who knows for sure?

Without using your physics book, prove that E=mc2

I know that my Faith is the only way because He says so Himself:

Jhn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

There is NOTHING IN THE UNIVERSE surer than God's own world. He doesnt need your endorsement.

I don't.

Mumbo Jumbo never claimed to make the world, it was there before he gained conciousness. Having done that, he looked around to see if there was anyone else around to talk to.

There wasn't, so (s)he created humans to talk to.

Sadly, they seem to either want to talk to themselves, to talk to fictional gods and angels, or to quote from fictional works, like the Bible, Quran, Vedas and other works of fantasy.

Sad really.
