Here in the UK, USA made rifle ammo is getting dificult to obtain, suppliers have long back-order lists. This aplies to compnents also, and includes 22RF. We are being given the excuse/reason that all production facilities are being used to supply the military in Iraq, and that when ammo will be available, it will be at a greatly increased price.
Are you guys having the same problem in the states, or is there something more to this ?

Brad; I would stock up if I were you, I am a Gunsmith in the UK, and believe me, USA made ammo is getting sparse from importers. If I can't get it, customers certainly won't!

Back during the first Persian Gulf War we had problems getting practice ammo for our handguns and we were told it was because production was geared toward war munitions. We could get all the service ammo we needed, though.

Last year I purchased a .458 Winchester Magnum and had trouble finding ammo for it. I could find the .458 Lott ammo, but it won't work in the Winchester caliber. I was told that the .458 Win. Mag. ammo was being diverted to Siberia & Russia because they figured out over there that it would take out a car motor. Go figure.

Right now we are not having problems getting ammo, of course I usually stay stocked up.

Good luck.

I have had no bother obtaining ammo for any of my rifles what so ever in the uk.
I purchased 1000 22rf (winchester) this morning.
200- 243 and 200- .17 (remington)last week without any bother what so ever.
The onley thing that i would say is a possibal factor in shortage / increas in price is the fact thet all the lead is been bought up by the far east

You're getting screwed. I can go to Wal-Mart around the corner (and did this week) and see about 50 bricks (550 rds each) of .22 LR on the shelf. Someone is trying to put the squeeze on you. If you can't take the guns, hide the ammo.

As long as the Second Ammendment to the U.S. Constitution is in tact, there is no shortage of guns or ammo here in the U.S.

It's true over here, too, but to a much lesser extent.
