I just discovered my two indoor cats have fleas. I can't figure out how they got them, but now have to figure out how to get rid of them. Is Program worth its cost or is there a better product? Also, any advice on how to get rid of fleas for good?

If you've already got fleas, Program will not get rid of them. It does work, but it's designed to sterilise the fleas, not kill them. It's a preventative, to be used when they're aren't fleas already present.

Indoor cats are NOT safe from fleas. Fleas enter houses through any tiny crack, and there's no way to keep them out. They're attracted by warmth and movement because they know it means a meal.

Get a treatment from a vet - Frontline, Advantage, Revolution and Advocate all work well. They will kill the fleas on your cat within 24 hours, and keep them off the animal for up to a month - 6 weeks for Frontline Plus. Just make sure you get it on the skin of the animal, not the fur.

Take it from me you also need a treatment from your house - once fleas come in, they live mostly in your carpet/sofas, and they lay eggs there so you need to spray the house as well.

The problem w/ fleas is that they multiply quickly and can cause discomfort not only for your cats but to you in only days. Do not use it. It takes way too long to start working and you need a solution fast. I use Revolution which is a monthly liquid topical. I swear it works overnight, and I only have to use it every 2 or 3 mths. My cat has skin allergies and it never bothered him. The best part is that it dries w/in hrs and you can touch him w/o worrying about keeping him away from ppl. It is well worth the money, since it also prevents earmites and several different types of worms from infecting your cats. Very much an all in one which is always better and cheaper in the long run.

To treat the house I use Bengal flea spray (I only know that it's a purpler bottle) to spray the perimeter of rooms every year.during the summer.
