nope, all souls are the same. It says that God breathed life into the nostrils of man. No where does it state that he breathed this kind of life into one man and that kind of life into another man. If there is a double standard it is because men are in charge and where humans are in charge there is room for bias, error and wrong doing.

Old habits die hard. In the early days of Christianity it was necessary to keep as many people in the church as possible in order for it to grow into a real power. Catholic souls aren't different than non-catholic souls... they're simply more gullible. I mean, what is this obsession with worshiping a 'jealous god'? Jealousy, "...sounds like the dark side of the force to me, Luke..." Star Wars
I mean, what if the catholics; indeed, all christians, were worshiping the 'Jealous One', or could we call him, 'Lucifer', the angel who got kicked out of Heaven for thinking he was greater than his creator? But, then, this also brings up the question of God's competancy to create a world to begin with.
After all, if he screwed up when he made Lucifer, and he screwed up when he created Adam and Eve (who went bad pretty fast), and he screwed up when he made Sodom and Gamorah, and he screwed up when he made all the people who died in the great Flood, because they were so wicked.... then what sort of a God is he? And, what sort of a God needs to be worshiped by his creations? If my ego were that big, my shrink would be prescribing much more potent drugs for me... :P
Keep in mind who you're talking about here, too. This is the church that castrated young boys, just to keep thier voices 'angelic' sounding for the Vatican Chior...

Dennis Miller disclaimer: "Of course, this is just my opinion; I could be wrong."

I don't know why they do that. The main reason I am not catholic is that there are way too many things that just don't make sense, and things that confuse me. If god were to make a church, wouldn't it be simple enough to understand and have reasons for everything?

You can always get a civil ceremony or he can convert. As for two Catholics, if that is what is dictated by the Church, it is best to direct your question to a superior.

It's dogma. Things like this are why it is important to understand what these belief structures are really up to. People actually fall for this kind of thing.

It's their belief system. The RCC wants control over it's people. That's not bad in itself, it's just that the clergy does not pay much attention to the Bible. I know that would be insulting for them to see that, but it's true.
