MS Excel worksheet has limit of 65,536 rows. Can they be increased. If not what the alternatives can be, say the need is of 500,000 observations which must be continuous.

Get a database designer to build you an interface for your data in MySQL or Oracle -- you could then handle millions of "row" like structures.

I think Excel 2007 has more rows than Excel 2003, however I don't know if it has that many rows. You might continue your data on the next spreadsheet. However if you have that much data, a database is more situated to suiting your needs.

*Greed* is correct. For that much data you should use a database instead. However, if you MUST use a spreadsheet, then upgrade to Excel 2007. It has over a million rows.

if i'm not mistaken even excel 2003 has more than a million rows
