Hi,
The most common symptom of cancer of the breast is the presence of a lump in the breast. The lump is often detected by the patient herself either accidentally or during a routine self examination. The lump is usually painless and hard. Sometimes, there may be changes in the shape and size of the breast and the nipple.
In case a lump is detected by you, mammography should be done. This is a special X-ray of the breast. It can detect early breast cancers and gives a fairly accurate picture of any changes in the breast. Any spots that show up in the mammogram are then further analysed by a biopsy. In this procedure, a small part of the lump tissue is taken for laboratory testing. The biopsy can also be done in many ways. In some cases, a small needle may be inserted into the lump and a small portion of the fluid may be taken.
In another form of biopsy, a small cut may be made on the breast to get to the lump, a piece of which is then taken for testing. In some cases, the entire lump may be removed. The procedure followed is decided by the doctor .
In case cancer of the breast is confirmed, other tests may be done to look for spread of the disease. These include blood tests, X-rays and ultrasound scan of the abdomen. In some cases a bone scan may be done.

Just get in there and get it biopsied. When I found mine, it was a painful lump. I thought it was period induced or something. They took a mammogram and did see something but told me to come back in 6 months. Everybody (even friends who had breast cancer) told me that if it's painful, it's not cancer. WRONG! 6 months later I went back for another one and the surgeon put the old and new X-ray up and said he didn't see any difference, did I? I realized at that moment that if I didn't speak up, they would do nothing so I lied and said "Yes, I think it's bigger." That led to a biopsi and it was cancerous. I ended up with a lumpectomy, chemo and radiation. DON'T leave it. When all was said and done, and the surgery was over, the cancer had gotten into one lymph node. I was only lucky because I forced them. In my opinion, if they had done the biopsi originally when it occurred, it wouldn't have gotten into ANY lymph nodes which is how it spreads. The doctors honestly do not know. You have to push it and demand tests. They can tell you all kinds of things. It's a cyst, a calcium deposit, blah blah blah. There is NO way to tell without a biopsi. Mine was solid and didn't move either. There was no redness or any other sign. Which is why they just let me go. Don't let it happen to you. My friend, a nurse happened to be attending my original biopsi and asked me if I would mind if she felt my lump because she had one too and was worried and wanted to see what it felt like. Even though she works with doctors every day, they would not biopsi hers. That was now 5 years ago and at this moment she has breast cancer. Don't wait and don't be put off by doctors. Yours may simply be a cyst or something but you won't know until they test it. MAKE them. These days, we are all responsible for our own health and we have to fight for it. Trust yourself. Trust your intuition. Mine didn't move around either because it was hooked onto my chest wall somehow.
Don't trust the doctors, they are a business. Trust yourself. 4 months after I was getting over the tiredness and all that crap from the treatments, my 28 year old very normally healthy twin pregnant daughter went into the hospital with what she knew was an abnormal fever. They sent her home. She went back the next day at which time they diagnosed her with incurable colon cancer. It was ridiculous and all because her doctor failed to perform one of her regular colonoscopies. She died within two months at home. They took the baby and he suffered some seizures from being in the womb with all that cancerous **** floating around.
I don't mean to get carried away but let me tell you ... doctors are paid mechanics and you really need to look after yourself and INSIST that they check you out. If you don't, you're just another number who went blindly through the hoop and they can actually kill you with their indifference.
I think yours is benign likely but I sincerely hope that you force them to check it out.
Wishing you all the best! Don't wait and don't let doctors sway you. If it's nothing, then great! And if you want to talk to me again, I'm here.

The Mayo Clinic website has a lot of great information. I have found that it gives as much info as possible with out being to biased or giving the worst possible case scenario like some health sites do.

here are some good sites to know more about breast masses
based on your description, it does sound serious, because commonly, benign breast masses are movable. but im only diagnosing based on your description, so i can be wrong. it's still different when one is able to examine a person. i suggest you get a biopsy to determine if it is benign or malignant. wish you goodluck..God bless..hopefully, you'll get a good news.

There is no way to find out any more via the web until they do the tests and get the results back.
