You cannot delete your answer once the question has been closed...

All anyone has to do to verify this is look at an old question that has been closed. There isn't a delete button....

You can edit your reply before the answer is closed. You can´t after that. I recall that once I wanted to edit one of my replies because I had realised of a mistake and the answer was closed! It will be this way for as long as Yahoo!answers exist or until these settings change...

But, if this ever happens to you, don't worry that much, there are soooo many questions that the odds that someone really find your mistakes are really small. Unless they check on your profile and unless you only answered a few ones.... So, if you want this mistake to "disappear" faster, enough questions until nobody will get to this one. There is not a way to find a question than to read the last ones first. This is a bug that yahoo has, you can't get to someone's first question if this person has replied say 8000 question because, believe me, it would take you a looong while.

All answers to questions are routed to a secret government facility controlled by the Fuhrer of Homeland Security to go into your file. If you give an answer that King George or Queen Hillary does not like, you will be banned from flying on airplanes, be subject to tax audits, have your passport confiscated, or get a knock on your door in the middle of the night and taken to Guantanamo for questioning and reorientation.

Other than that, not much.

You can edit it or delete it at any time.
It's the two little blue words at the bottom that say 'edit' and 'delete' ☺
