Okay after I first got my 90 Seville I first just put 20% tint on the car. At the time it was great, but over time it just didnt feel dark enough for me and I was never pulled over, so I got 15% all across, again the first month I felt I was looking cool again, but then again, it just wasnt dark enough for me! and I still havent gotten pulled. So this is my plan, I am planning to get a 00-03 Deville soon anyways but on this Car I plan to go all the way out, I mean 5% tint on the side windows and rear window and I am also going to get the windshield tinted. I am considering 20% on the windshield to make a serious killer looking effect of deep dark throughout the car, but then again I want to be able to see where Im driving, I can imagine that being hell at night especially in rain. But a guy at my school has a Charger and his tint is so dark you cant see in the car AT ALL even the windshield looks like it has 5% across the entire thing! to me that just looks sick, yall dont thinkso?

Just to add in response to your many comments saying its Illegal.. I Know its Illegal and atleast in North Carolina, many window tint shops will do your windshield if you ask them too, but they warn you that your likely to get busted for it. I think its worth the chance

I have both professional and personal experience with this. Personally i have 5% all around and 35% on the front windshield. The 50% in my opinion is too light for the front windshield and the 15% is too dark for night time driving. it is also important to place a front windshield tint that is a great deal lighter than the sides because it wont' be as noticable that you have it on the front if the sides are much darker. my car is 5% sides and 35% front, which i believe is the magic combo.
Professionally, I sell window film for cars and houses. I have tinted thousands of windshields and would urge you not to go darker than 35% on the front. If you really want it to be dark and not obvious for the cops, limo the sides out and put a strip of limo tint on the windshield after you put the 35% on the entire windshield. the strip in the darker makes the windshield look untinted unless you compare it to a car without it.

and ucantcme is incorrect, even if you have illegal tint, it is destruction of private property and vandalism. they can write you a ticket forcing you to remove it but thats it. unless you get a stainless steel razor it will scratch the glass, so you think the police dept wants to be sued for damaging a car for no reason other than making your tint look bad?

I am not aware of any place that allows windshields to be tinted except 4" across the top. Most commercial tinting businesses will not tint over State standards without you signing a disclaimer that makes you responsible should you get stopped. Play if you can pay.

I don't think its legal to tint the front windshield. Personally, I like to see where I'm going while driving.

IT IS COMPLETELY ILLEGAL AND THE FUNNY THING IS THAT THE POLICE OFFICER WHEN HE OR SHE STOPS YOU OR ANYONE WITH ILLEGAL TINT, THEY HAVE THE RIGHT NOT JUST TO GIVE YOU A TICKET BUT AT THE SAME TIME THEY CAN SCRAPE LINES IN THE TINT USING A RAZOR BLADE AND THAT IS PERFECTLY LEGAL.

you need to be able to see. it is nearly impossible to see around the car at night with tinted windows
