Of course I know whatever the bride wants the bride gets. : ) I just wondered what your reaction would be, assuming the shoes were smashing with the dress.

Not weird at all! The bottom of famous designer Christian Louboutain shoes are all red!
You love red shoes, its your wedding, wear red shoes! Chances are your dress is long and you will only see a flashes of your red shoes as you walk. It will be fun for pictures too!

I think red with a white dress and a red bouquet matches nicely but you won't be holding the bouquet all night so you don't you get red accents on your dress. That would be pretty. Also if your dress is long then it won't matter because no one will be able to see your shoes.

It's your day, do what makes you happy!
My personal suggestion -take it or leave it- would be that if you do wear red shoes, to use red as your wedding accent color... if it's not your wedding color and you just want to stand out, maybe have your hair pulled up with a red rose or a red clip of some kind.
But weither you have red accents or not, just remember if you're gonna pull off something as unconventional as red shoes with your wedding dress, you have to be completely confident about that decision. Confidence does wonders for fashion- and just about everything else for that matter!

Well i was going to ware runners on my day because i hate high heals and fancy shoes. Well i decide on the night before my wedding to pick up a pair of simple fancy white shoes and i decide to ware them. I am so glad i did because when i go all my pics back you could see my shoes in all of them and runner would have looked funny! Personally I would go with white but if your colours are red then red might work but it is hard to say!

Hi and congratulations!
To be honest.....I never notice the brides shoes!! Who does??? The gowns are so long now, you MIGHT get a glimpse as she is coming down the aisle, but most people don't look at shoes!
If you have them on for the reception, then people may notice when you are dancing.
So.......why not? I don't think it's weird if that's what YOU want.

IMO, thats a 10. But, you could pull it off maybe. As long as the ONLY red thing is the shoes. You dont want to look like a giant valentine. And the bridal party, no red either. Then it would be like just a hint of red. I like that you want to show your personality.

I came across your question when I Googled "not typical bridal shoes." I was wondering the same thing because I'm planning to wear red platform heels. (I'm 5'1 and my fiance is 6'0.) So, I say let's go for it! I've polled a few friends including my future mother in law. Everyone likes the idea. Have fun dancing!

I had some shoes I dearly loved (gold and silver with crystal stones). I couldn't wait to show them off and get all kinds of compliments with the great pedicure I had. Well....my dress was long and no one noticed the shoes at all! If you are planning on showing them off, be sure to wear a shorter dress!
