Hi,
Vitamin B-complex should help (in particular Mecobalamin). You could also try a number of natural anti-deps:
- St.John's Wort
- Ginseng
- Gingko Biloba
- SAMe (S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine)
- 5-HTP
- Amino acids L-tyrosine and phenylalanine
Hang in there. Effexor has some of the worst withdrawal symptoms amongst the anti-deps because of it's short half-life. The symptoms may persist for a week to a month depending on how long you were taking it for. During this time, try to get as much exercise as possible in addition to any of the items above. (There is a herbal preparation called Amoryn that contains some of the substances listed above. You could give that a try if you wish)

A question first. Are you under a doctor's care to wean off the Effexor? If not I suggest you see one, as coming off of Effexor can cause a real meltdown if it is done too quickly. It's unadvisable to just stop taking it cold turkey as it can make you act just like you're describing or worse. Are you coming off the Effexor so you can transition to another anti-depressant? this too can be difficult. There are lots of vitamins and herbs that claim to help moodiness and depression, and you can either consult your doc, a naturopathic doctor, or look in the glossary of any book about vitamins and supplements.

It's not a vitamin, but Valerian Root Tea helps,
but it does not have a great fragrance.
So if you make this tea,
be sure to add some mint and honey to it.
The odor to some folks is quite unpleasant.

Read depression treatments, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 2, and take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, and practise daily, one of the relaxation techniques on pages 2,11,2c, or 2i. Later, consider taking the herbal remedies.
