And if not, then why do they come to the religion and spirituality forum?

Sorry, to offend. I simply asked a question. I cannot understand why you are all so ready to attack a person. If I was mean, I would not have asked. I am just curious. Stop wearing your feelings on your shoulders.

To david. I do believe in God. I just know nothing about atheists. They seem to know an awful lot about christians. So I thought I needed to educate myself. But obviously, this is not the place to do, because rather than just answer a question. People have to be rude! I don't understand that!

No. There is no atheist dogma. It is simply the disbelief in the existence of any of the thousands of gods that religions believe in and/or worship.

Religion and Spirituality are TOPICS. Anyone of ANY belief can have an opinion on or discuss them - although atheists are some of the MOST spiritual people on the planet. Do you see only dogs posting in the Dogs section?

No, atheism is NOT a religion.

We come here to keep an eye on the religious folk (know thine enemy, so to speak), try to get them to understand they don't hold the truth, and to keep in the religionists minds that they are not in control of the country or world... we are here and will remain here.

Atheism is the rejection of religion. That means it is ABOUT religion. So this is the place to talk about it. And this question gets asked like 50 times a day. Are you guys really that insecure that you can't take criticism?

No.

Did you not see that the second question has been asked a billion times before (just 100 more times than the first question). Because I want to. There, now you can't cry that I didn't answer you.

An atheist is someone without religion so no. And the answer to your second question is because they got lost.

Atheism certainly is a religion. Believing in chance requires a STRONG faith. Personally I don't have a faith that strong so I have to stick to Bible religion.

No, it is not.
They come to learn. They come to educate us about their beliefs and to stop the spread of misinformation about themselves.
They come to help stop the spread of myths about atheism.

Don't you like it that they are here?

I do! I learn more about myself from them. I read the Bible more and am a better Christian because of them because I want to prove them wrong. I want to prove that I am a good person, a compassionate person, and a tolerant person...so I try harder.
Thanks to the atheists!

We come here to discuss religion and spirituality, of course. Why are you here? Is there a rule that you have to be religious to discuss it? I mostly answer questions addressed to atheists. Seems we are wanted here.

No, it isn't a religion. And guess what? It isn't spiritual either. And one other bit of information you may want to remember. "This is a public forum".

Atheism doesn't mean not spiritual. I have studied many religions and am able to answer questions on those religions without trying to convert someone to my belief system. Who do you think has more right to be here?
