If you are able to leave whatever state you are in, I wouldn't give up on the wildlife area quite yet until you check other possible jobs using the training you have. for example, check to see if there are any jobs in any of the state or national parks as a park ranger
If you are serious about looking for other work, try going to an employment agency and take one of the tests they give to see what you might be able to do that you enjoy. You may be able to find a job you wouldn't think of where you could still use the training that you have, have job security and enjoy the work at the same time.

Make a list of the things you absolutely love to do, without any thought about the money you could make doing any of them. Then narrow the list down to the top five. Interview people who do the things you love to do, who are successful making money doing it. I mean talk to the most powerful, famous, wealthy people doing it, who you can get an interview with. Then based on the results of your interviews, you should have a pretty good idea which one of those five you want to pursue. After you pick the one, interview others who are successful doing that and find out how they did it. Then copy what they did to get there. If you love what you do to make money, you will have the necessary motivation to continue doing it long enough to be successful at it. Good luck on your quest.

The real question is, "what do you want to do?" You are still young enough that you have options. Whether in wildlife, or something completely different. Do what you love and the money will come.
"Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs are people who have come alive." -Harold Whitman

i suppose from your message mention above you seem to be less than 25yrs old ---well at this moment , usually every one will face the same question like you.
in my point of view ...we usually have 2 choice ;
1- is to obtain as much working experiences as possible --by looking into your own strength and weakness ...build up the CASH value
2- is to finalise the scope or professional that you wish to be expert in its for the next 20-30yrs ---like LEARN before you EARN
i hope this opinion shall be some tips for you....no matter what is ahead of our life in any aspect ---we need to be MINDFUL ....so that we can visualise better
