JWs you say that a person just knows when he or she is annointed of God, but how do they know?

WHAT IS THE EVIDENCE, BESIDES THEY JUST KNOW? PLEASE, I AM TRYING TO UNDERSTAND YOUR POINT OF VIEW!!

Holy spirit informs a Christian that he has been selected to serve in heaven.

(Romans 8:16-17) The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are God’s children. If, then, we are children, we are also heirs: heirs indeed of God, but joint heirs with Christ [to serve as kings and priests in heaven]

(1 John 5:6-8) And the spirit is that which is bearing witness, because the spirit is the truth. For there are three witness bearers, the spirit [which informs the person] and the water [by which the person would have been baptized] and the blood [the emblem used at the Last Supper Memorial], and the three are in agreement.


Note that Jesus and the bible contrasts the "little flock" (who have the heavenly hope) with the "other sheep", the vast majority of whom are gathered chronologically later.

(Luke 12:32) “Have no fear, little flock, because your Father has approved of giving you the kingdom [to administer as kings and priests].

(John 10:16) And I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; those also I must bring, and they will listen to my voice, and they will become one flock, one shepherd.

Hello Sandra, I used to be a JW for most of my life and I also had some trouble understanding this process... until now :)

Let's put it this way: Imagine a parent, a father that wrote to his offspring the most beautiful, touching letter ever written.

As time goes by somehow this letter gets to be around many people...yes, many people get to read it and are marveled and rejoiced at the contents of such letter.

Yet, their rejoycement and understanding of such fatherly letter is not complete.

However, when this same letter happens to come into the hands of one of this father's sons or daughters we can almost imagine the joyce and happiness that invades every part of their beings. They can feel such rejoyce and fully understand every word and every meaning because every word in this letter is directed to them! They can read this letter from the perspective that their father meant it to read.

In the same way, those anointed by holy spirit aka the chosen ones :)

The anointing depends entirely upon Jehovah's choosing. At Romans the 9th chapter Paul wrote: 'What shall we say, then? Is there injustice with God? Never may that become so! For he says to Moses: "I will have mercy upon whomever I do have mercy, and I will show compassion to whomever I do show compassion." So, then, it depends, not upon the one wishing nor upon the one running, but upon God, who has mercy.'

As for who the anointed are at this point, only they know for sure. That's why Paul also wrote in the 8th chapter of Romans about an ultimate "revealing of the sons of God."

No one could answer this question except for an anointed one, all of the apostles were anointed so analyze how they knew. It seems that they were filled with holy spirit and had better discernment than the average person. They often made comments with reference to the holy spirit .
