I know one old man as well as hundreds more on the internet. They think you can find free energy if you just try harder. They spend like $2,000 on phony books plans and schemes trying to get free electricity with crackpot inventions. They never stop and no matter what pictures or new stories you show them they will never believe its fraud. They just say well it wasnt built right. Is this a mental illness? One plan was just copper wire around a plastic cereal bowl and this old man paid $70 for the plans.

There's no such thing as "free energy". A fool and their money are soonly parted.

I don't believe that it is a mental illness. Free energy is available in many forms. Copper wire around a plastic bottle, yes that is a bit delusional. As with anything it is buyer beware. It is well known that energy is all around us and we have just not found the perfect means to tap it economically. In some cases we have but this is a new Science. There is a cold fusion patent in the United States but many are unaware of it. It's possible this "old man" just doesn't have the technical background to understand what is feasible and what is not. There are many people out there like this. Some just want it to be true but you have to dig a whole lot deeper into the technical aspects to separate the wheat from the chaff. I have the technical background and I have been studying this for a very long time. I am an engineer both mechanical and electrical. There are enormous possibilities out there. I give no references because YOU need to do the due diligence and come up with your own opinions and theories. It may spur your mind to come up with new thoughts. The "old man" needs to do his due diligence as well without sending money to these people without knowing what he is sending money for. See the link below to see most of what is out there. "The old man" isn't necessarily wrong, just maybe misdirected....My thoughts...

By the way, the link below is from the Australian government. They must not think this is all too crazy to go into this depth...

All energy, except nuclear energy, is from the sun and all energy is initially free. God doesn't charge anything for it. The trouble is people put themselves between the sun's energy and you and charge you for it.

Farmers by owning land put themselves between you and the sun's energy, which plants convert to food, and so you have to pay them and a middleman for food energy. Oil entrepreneurs drill for oil and its energy was originally from the sun. They charge you for the heating oil and gasoline.

If you put a solar panel up on your roof to convert the sun's energy to electricity the electricity is free after the initial cost of the panels and electronics is paid off. If you plant a garden to raise vegetables for food and to feed livestock (like rabbits) the sun's energy, which is harnessed to produce vegetables and grass, is free. So the sun's energy is there, free for the taking, you just have to know how to get it. Believing in free energy isn't a mental disorder.

Good luck with your solar-panels and garden, good mental health, peace and love!

Well, I don't know about these people...but that's how some inventions get done. Just tell them.."Gitterdun" and help them a little so they'll cut you in on the millions they might end up with. Who knows...you might have the one idea that turns it into a winner!!! Wish I had something like that to "inspire" me!!!!
