Jesus knew us well when he told us not to worry he said, "who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?" True. He also told us not to worry about tomorrow because tomorrow would worry about itself. Worry about today is all we can do and by today he means right now! I lived many, many years worrying and for nothing. In Christ I found freedom because I found a friend who truly listened and cared. If you don't believe what I am saying then fall on your knees and lay it all on Christ. Ask him to prove himself to you and he will by giving you peace of mind. He is the greatest Opiate. God bless you. My prayers are going to be with you. Take care.

I used to be very paranoid as a kid. I watched I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and I freaked. Every moment I would look behind my shoulder because I thought people were out to get me (I truly believed this). Looking out windows and looking into mirrors when I was all alone was the worst though. I always thought I would see something, someone. This went on for years and I am a bit paranoid still. You just have to open your eyes to realize that life is short and you can't worry about these things all the time. Spend more time with your family and talk to them like you would see them for the last time. Maybe that will give you some happiness (just knowing that your family knows how much you care for them).

I think most people at some point in their lives have this fear, notice FEAR not paranoia.
You love your family dearly and don't want anything to happen to them, that's natural. BUT nobody lives forever, if a family member becomes ill the only thing you can do is pray that God helps you to accept what is happening, it may not change the course of what is in store for your loved one, but you should gain some peace.

When one is young and christian, many of it's main issues center around life, death, and hell or heaven. When the mind is not yet maturely rational (age or delays with whatever--alchohol drugs, foods, addictions), it is easily shaken and the mind being a fragile thing during the transitional phasese of youth or young adulthood (as well a midlife crisis, etc), one can exhibit signs and symptoms of stress and ultimately mental breakdown. Paranoia of an extreme kind, as you say, is very dangerous to oneself and others. It harms your mind and body due to lack of proper care (nutrition, relaxation, rest). Extreme paranoia occurs when coping skills have become dysfunctional. You need some counseling or, self-seeking if self-motivated. It is better to get some talk going with others.

First you need to take a deep breath and think " what are the chances of this actually happening" and if your really paranoid think " if this were to happen what are some positive things that would still be going for me"

First, ..dreams are just that, dreams. Whatever this family member is going through can be fixed. Whatever road they are on, there are plenty of ways to help, why don't you try a simple, calm, talk with them, just to clear the air? then maybe seek further advice from your spiritual leader. blessings on you and them

paranoia... is it fear or super-preparedness for any of the above...? I say the latter. Am I ever...? ha! Not about death though.

Only when I don't take my medication. :) Actually no I don't have paranoia but if it's bothering you then see someone. And it sounds more like anxiety then paranoia
