I'm a Christian, and am on the verge of getting engaged to my girlfriend. We've been together for a very long time. She's not a Christian. It's never been a problem for us. I respect her right to do as she wishes, and that extends to her spiritual choices. We will not be having children, so there goes the argument of how the children will be raised. Our relationship has worked very well. I don't have any intention of turning my back on someone who's been there for me all these years just because her beliefs aren't a cookie-cutter copy of my own.

Also, dude, check Ezra. This verse can be confusing and I can see how it can easily be misconstrued or rationalized away. But *check* the book of Ezra, the crux of which is that after the Israelites had been in captivity and had married those who worshiped other gods (and think about this: if you were in captivity in a foreign country for 70 years, who else would you marry but someone of that country, ya know?) they WEPT and REPENTED of their sin. For what fellowship has light with darkness?

This is not a question. However, christians should marry other christians. the marriage will be stronger, if both people have God first in their lives. Marriage is tough enough, without religious beliefs becoming an issue!

That's the very best advice you could possibly give someone, dear one! I'm living proof that being unequally yoked brings untold sadness to one's life!

God bless you!

Does this state that you should not marry someone who is a non-believer? If it does I agree.
