That is probably the hardest of the MOSs. I highly recomend joining as a medic first, doing that for a few years, then go SF. Even then SF Medical Sergeant still has a high wash out rate.
If you make it, promotion is good. Your kind of in your own system in SF.

SF Medic is MOS 18D. in case you qualify for and do the 18X application and bypass SFAS you may volunteer to be an 18D, it fairly is not certain even with the undeniable fact that. it relatively relies on your score ranges and the desires of the army. in case you connect the army and you do no longer do the 18X application, you may volunteer for SFAS once you're a professional. You needless to say connect the army in case you prefer to make sure Forces, and an 18D. specific the 18D is an indispensable element of an ODA team. They do each and every thing that each and each different SF team member does. It does not do plenty stable to pass into action with out your medic. once you graduate the specific Forces Qualification direction and are provided the SF tab, the Beret, and your MOS Qual, you're promoted to the rank of SSG (E-6).

We don't have "seargants" in the Army, let alone in the Special Forces!

If you aren't in yet, forget about it. 18X's usually end up as and infantryman in a regular Army unit. Try 68W, learn your job, get some experience, then try SFAS.
