Ok, to those who give references and complain, then why do SO MANY WOMEN feel the call of God to PREACH?

Unfortunately many people, even many Christians do think it's wrong for a woman to pastor and the reasons go back to the traditionally subserviant role of the female in most of the Bible. Women were very much 2nd class citizens in much of Bible history; barely good for more than birthing babies and taking care of men and children. Most of the biblical references that denounce the role of women in the church are attributed to the writings of the apostle Paul (see 1 Corinthians 14:34-35). People forget that this is what the culture was like in those days. Women didn't even speak up in public without first asking their husband.

But Jesus himself welcomed women into ministry. He first appeared to Mary after his resurrection and told her to "go and tell". How much more affirmation for women could there be than this? Jesus was quite radical. But he welcomed everyone.

Yes, God does call both men and women.

God bless you.

Woman can certainly teach and preach in the assembly. I think scriptually, women should not be the head or have authority (such as a Pastor or Minister) in the church since God put man in that position.

You need to study why these things were written and what was going on culturally at the time Paul wrote this.

God called us to "go out and preach the good news", he did NOT say " men..put the women in their place and go tell people about me" The lord wants people to be saved no matter if it's from a man or woman!

People only think it's wrong if they are still living in the day of ... Women in the kitchen and raisin the children

Yes woman can do God's will and spread the good news of God's kingdom along with men and children. But as far as holding a responsible position in the congregation and teaching, Jehovah left that to the older Men of the congregations
1Cor. 14:34.
1Tim 2:11
Woman Had a lot of responsibilities such as having children, raising a family, loving their husbands, taking care of the house hold arrangements, finances, food buying, cloths making ,So the arrangment that was set forth by God was that the woman be in sujection to the man, and man be insujection to Jesus and Jesus be in subjection to his father.
Ephesians 5:21 - 33
Only in circumstaces where there are no men then a woman is alowed to teach, but she must wear a head covering to show her subjection to God's arrangement of things.-
1Cor 11:3-10 and also shows her respect for the headship arrangment that God had set up for mankind.
Remember when God created Adam he then created Eve not as a head but as a helper for him as a compliment to him.
And he like wise should love and repect her as he would want to be, and take care of all her needs including her spiritual aspect of her life.

1 Corinthians 12:12-14 says:

12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into[c] one Spirit. 14 For in fact the body is not one member but many.

How is it that we say that we are all in the body of Christ and yet we constantly strive to divide the body with vain disputes?
To say that men are in better standing with God than women is to say that Jesus only came to save some people. We were all equally going to hell for our sin.

This is why:

1 Corinthians 14

As in all the churches of the saints, 34 the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. 35 If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.

1 Timothy 2:12

But I permit not a woman to teach, nor to have dominion over a man, but to be in quietness.

Some people believe that this was only a cultural thing --- that at the time it wasn't considered seemly for a woman to have such a role and Paul was speaking out of that. I would say that more people believe that since it is in scripture, we should go by that.

Personally, I don't feel that it's good to gamble with the Word of God. I will not sit under a woman preacher. That said, I do think that in certain circumstances, the Lord calls women to preach/teach because the men have so fallen down on the job that He takes their anointing away from them and gives it to a woman. Still, I don't feel right in my spirit to sit under a woman preacher/pastor.

According to my sources...women were treated by dirt in that book women pastors preach out of...but I guess it no longer applies since it's a new covenant or something...which brings up the question...why is the OT still in there if it no longer applies?

Well, I've read scripture that seems to nix it. But I've often been surprised about what things mean when someone explains them to me.

I've often joked that it's probably because if a woman is speaking, no man would listen to her. I wonder how close that is to the truth.

It is a sin to live outside of our purpose.

It is not wrong. Gifts go to men and women. This is God's love.

I've never understood that. I was married by a woman pastor. She was awesome.

Listen, religious leaders are generally sexist and racist - that's why I can't deal with religion.
