I am receiving harassing phone calls on my cell. I have an idea of who it may be but no way to prove it. I went to the sheriff's dept and was told to get my records from the cell phone co. I went to my cell co. and was told that I must file a police report and have them subpoena my records. Seems as though I'm at a loss. How is it fair for someone to call and harass you and just because they blocked their # they get away with it? The phone records that I need are mine and I don't see why I shouldn't be able to obtain them since what is occurring is a crime. I started keeping a log yesterday & I've got 2 messages saved on my voice mail. They're not threatening me and I understand that I'm not a priority. But it is still a crime and this person should be punished. I'm so annoyed right now because the criminal has more rights than me. Can a magistrate order a subpoena my phone records? Any ideas on how to bring this person to justice? Why won't law enforcement do something?

Cell phone companies cant immediately tell you what a unavailable really is...that # is not yours therefore not your information.
u can block it if u have a provider block option.
or use deadsound on unavailable calls (my lg phone can do that).

I would think the cell phone company would be more than willing to give you those records. I would try to see if switching to another service might help. Tell them what the problem is and ask what their service can do for you and see if you like the answer. If you are sure who is doing it, and can afford it, find an attorney and file a lawsuit against the person for harassment and the attorney would be able to get a subpoena for those records. I am not sure what you told the police but they should have been more interested in finding out who is doing it because that is a crime. try that again and if they tell you that, tell them that you want to at least file a police report so that it is on the record. also, if a policeman on a desk tries to tell you that you need those records and tries to "blow you off" ask to speak to a superior officer and see if that helps. I hope you get this worked out because life is too short for that!!!

They are YOUR records and you have a right to them. I suggest you take some sort of legal action against your cell phone company, and then switch carriers. What company do you have? I know that with AT&T, Sprint, and Alltell, there's no problem obtaining your own records. With AT&T, my record comes with the bill.
The only way I know of to block someone from your cell phone is to find out their number (which your cell phone company cannot keep from you) and to call your carrier and have them block the number for you.

I had a stalker for a while..I changed my number..like 3 times..So---now I GET now and than calls..but I know who it is..and if is that beeouch haterz going to or might change it again...and not tell like more than 33 ppl my number lol..
yeah I got a lot of friends and is dangerous because you don't know who is real anymore..be careful..just change it..ok..

I use to get crank phone calls at night. I blew a fog horn into the phone and they never called back. I would recommend it.

Tell the Police or telephone company that they are making you rin in circles. Do not give up until someone caves and gives you a solution.

If it bothers you that much, change your number, and if the company gives you stink, just cancel the service and get a more service friendly service.
