You will not notice the long hours if you keep yourself productive. Before you start the day - list down the things you need to accomplish. Prioritize the work responsibilities depending on its importance.

Once you are able to finish the expected deliverable for the day - you may:
1. Fix your things. Arrange work area. It is more conducive to work if your place is neat and orderly.
2. Clean computer files. Delete what you do not need.
3. Sort out all your kept files. Filling and arranging documents take a lot of time. Best time for you to weed out unnecessary docs to have vacant spaces in your work area.

Only 8 hours? I'm working 12 hours tonight, tomorrow, AND Sunday. 7 pm - 7 am. 8 hours is nothing.

Break your day down into quarters. Take breaks at each quarter end. (i.e., after 2 hours take a 15 min break, after 4 take a lunch break, after 6 another 15 min.) This will mentally make the day go better.

Also, get used to it. 8 hours is a typical day in the working world. My Wednesdays often start at 7:30 am and end at 9pm.

I think she's complaining about having to work on Saturday

Most jobs require weekend work these days. Cant do much about it.

But you CAN choose to change jobs.

welcome to the real world. :)

be glad you're not working 10 or 12 hour days... some people do.
