Caylan C:
If you don't get punished wwhen you disobey rules why should there be rules from the begining, sorry but this doesn't seem logical to me.

Each group of Christians seems to interpret the Bible and the "rules" in it differently. There is punishment for disobeying them, though you may not be aware that you are being punished. Think of it kinda like if a person steals and never gets caught, however their life never improves, they constantly live in poverty, have no real happiness, well you could say that is their punishment.

In my upbringing, these were the things that I was always taught by my Christian parents, and by our church, that were not acceptable:

Homosexuality
Inter-racial mixing
Stealing
Worshipping false gods
Murder
Adultery

The list goes on and on.

There is nothing banned. God gave you free will. You CAN disobey, but its not good. It's considered taboo to have sex before marriage, get pierced or tattoed, in some cases, eat meat, gamble or dance, some cases, like pentecostal, wearing making and jewelry and getting hair cuts and not wearing dresses (for women) is considered taboo, but nothing really happens if you disobey them. Other than the fact you may be reprimanded, or you might be counted aganist by god.

Banned? I don't understand the question. Nothing is banned you are free to choose death or life ---to be set free from sin or live in sin and accept the consequences of sin. The only thing I know God said he will "Judge" in the New Testemant is Sexual Immorality and Adultery and then of course in the book of Revelation there is Judgement to other sins such as Idolators, Liars, Whoremongers, etc. I guess the word "banned" does not really come up. there are Commands such as "thou thalt have no other God's before me" I guess I really didn't understand your question.

Yes many things are banded. God is a God of love but He also hates sin. If you are a Christian then you to will come to hate sin and want to follow Gods will for your life.

Read the Ten Commandments it spells it out.

Christianity preaches forgiveness and tolerance. I find it interesting that they banned a lot of books through out history.

You could lift anything from the reference source from eating shellfish to cutting your hair, but most Christians tend to limit it to things people really want to do. Like ask challenging questions, masturbate, have interesting sex.

St Paul says (And I'm paraphrasing this) that everything is ok, but some things shouldn't be done because it would be bad for the faith of people around you.

Depending on the church...

But all together...murder, worshiping other Gods, adultery...etc, etc.
